They covered it the way they should have - focus on the storm, the aftermath, and the impact.

We have been praying!!!

LOL!  That SNL skit was hilarious!
It keep getting funnier....and then I lost it when they did the time and temperature.  :rofl2:
That was so unexpected!

Yeah, I am not sure they knew what happened to Jeanetta.  If they did, I am not sure they would have done that with the character.  It was funny, though.

.....right up there with Bill Cosby saying that all the new mothers on TWC were due to John Hope LOL.

General Discussion / Re: Gas prices in your area
« on: April 26, 2013, 02:28:31 AM »
It's weird in my area.  $3.39 where I am, but go 10 miles in any direction and the price jumps 10-15 cents.
I was able to use a ten cent per gallon discount and fill my gas tank and my mower's 2-gallon jug for $3.29 a gallon.

Jeanetta Jones with the cheese PSA.  Brie and Camembert cheese - I still need to give those a try with some crusty bread.   B)

Marshall Seese had one about emergency kits for the car during winter storms.  I could have used that in 1994 myself.

I remember Cam's diaper segment, and Marshall's caulking the windows, and Jeanetta's bathroom hints with Lysol.

It's good to see her.  She did a great job filling in for two meteorologists on maternity leave in South Bend, Indiana.  Paul Emmick is now there as chief meteorlogist at WSBT-TV.

The only thing about WOWT - do they really need FIVE meteorologists?  Somebody doesn't get much airtime.

What songs have aired from "Sahara" besides - True Companion?

According to this page

Moka Java - April 2000
Native Son of Distant Lands - February 2001

Great, thanks.

Moka Java isn't on Sahara.

Moka Java is on the Weekend in Monaco album.

I also like "Earthbound" and "Let's Stay Together", both from their album, "Tourist In Paradise".
I really like "One Ocean Way".....the part that never aired on TWC is just as cool as the rest of the song.  It is one of my all-time favorites.

Why did you post this under contributions? I posted that video. :)

Anyway, when I watch these old videos, I wish I had discovered TWC earlier than 1992. It seems like things were even better back then. Sure, they weren't as "polished" as they are today. And there weren't as many "babes" on air, but it was clearly all about giving viewers what they wanted...weather.
It was more fun to catch the stuff that went wrong, too.  It was so much more friendly back then.  Before 1989, I would only catch TWC at my grandmother's house.  By 1989, the special presentations on TWC were like one a month and actually had meterologists do the report!  I still have a few of them on VHS with the 3000 local forecast - before the version with the font change :).

I remember that one song, Rippington's St. Tropez for instance, would only play twice an evening - 5:37 and 6:37pm ET.  The song would not play at any other time during the day.  This would be in 1992 or so.

Cantore and Steele were a great pair indeed it was one of the few live programs Ive watched on TWC in 2009 especially during Vortex 2. Robinson was let go when again?
I believe he left on his own terms in December 2009.
Yeah, I think Kevin chose to leave after his contract expired.
This is incorrect. He got a chief meteorologist job I think in Ohio at that time.

I knew that, but I also thought I remembered it being discussed here that his contract was about to expire around that time also which is why he took that cheif met job. I guess I was mistaken, sorry if I caused any confusion.
He is still with WLWT in Cincinnati.
