OCMs & Personalities / Re: Cheryl Lemke now in Omaha, NE

I hate how it is so cut-throat.

Cheryl Lemke did a really good job at WSBT when the station was severely short-handed.
I thought she was from Omaha, too.

Sailing Through the City is a good song, but the rest was kind of lacking.
Sailing Through The City was the first Weather Channel song I fell in love with! That was 25 years ago! I still love it today!  :)
I actually blindly found the cassette tape in a discount store.  It was like $2.99.
I played that song over and over - even learned to play it on the flute

There is still a bug in the local forecast, at least in the Dayton, OH area.
At the end of the local forecast (upper right portion of the screen), there is a "TONIGHT" and "TOMORROW" forecast.

The "TOMORROW" is supposed to be using the daytime icons, but the nighttime icons are showing up there.  It happens frequently, too.

I find the upper level low over the Azores interesting, too.  There is nothing around it!

I am seeing it in Dayton, too.
I don't think it ever existed for my area.

Agreed.....I have seen her on TWC since at least 1991.  You'd think just with that experience alone, she has studied a lot.  Combine that with her work in the Air Force and Hurricane Hunter.  Both fit.

....and she's a Cincinnati native!

I had to roll my eyes this evening at some stuff I was seeing with Nick Walker.  He was trying to show the Tropical Update this evening (prior to the TD 1A upgrade late) and every satellite animation he used had incomplete and missing images, to the point where it completely failed on the second runthrough.
I don't think I have seen that much trouble with the computers since the power surge a few years ago.

"Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!"

The first American Top 40 show was July 3, 1970 (around the time of Scooby-Doo) when the #1 hit was "Mama Told Me Not to Come" by Three Dog Night.  The Top 10 Songs that week (ending July 11, 1970) was the last time The Beatles and Elvis Presley would both have hits in that list.

His last American Top 20 show's #1 hit was Shinedown's "Second Chance".
"Success doesn't happen in a vacuum. You're only as good as the people you worth with, and the people you work for.  I've been lucky; I've worked for and with the very best!" -Casey Kasem: July 3, 2009

Zoinks! Radio host and TV personality Casey Kasem, known for his role as Shaggy on many incarnations of "Scooby Doo" and host of Nick at Nite's Rerun/Classic TV/TV Hits Countdowns from 1989 until 1998, has died at the age of 82. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6106420/casey-kasem-dies-radio-host-voice-actor-dead-82

He's actually also famous for his American Top 40, which I believe Ryan Seacrest now hosts.  He had that job for many years until he left abruptly over a dispute with producers, hosted his own Top 40 show for ten years and then came back to his old show....before retiring.

I remember his Long Distance Dedications he'd read during the show and then play the requested song.  It was really neat.

It would be kinda neat to have one - if they would allow it knowing that they don't want them back.

I have an SGI Indigo that still works.

.....my avatar will live on!  B)

Oh wow - this is the first I have read about this.  I had no idea.

We had severe weather recently - I know Kim Cunningham was on, so that was good.  Having Jim Cantore, Carl Parker, and Greg Postel on would help.  They need some camera time.

.....oh, and we had another tornado that missed Xenia, Ohio this week.  There were tornado warnings just east of me and the storm went over Xenia, continued northeast, and touched down near Cedarville (an EF3!).
Dr. Forbes would have been awesome on that storm.

I am really glad he is doing okay.  He's like The Fujita Scale expert.

This is unbelievable on BOTH sides.

Is there this much hatred between Minneapolis and St. Paul?  Raleigh and Durham?  Greenville and Spartanburg?  Seattle and Tacoma?

Come on!

I am so glad I don't have Twitter - I didn't even know about this until I read this thread.  I just wasted about five minutes.

I have the WeatherStar simulator from Taiganet - I am HAPPY!  B)
