If you're listing in order, Nick Walker should be up under Kim, he's been there since the mid 90's iirc

I think you got that backwards. Kim first appeared around 1995. Nick didn't come around until at least 2000.

I thought Kim was on earlier than 1995, like '92 or '93?    She would be on during the overnight as a fill-in, like Bill Limmer, Ray Stagich, and Scott Lawrimore.

He might have perspectives on locations and how weather shapes things.
Mr. Lik seems kind of interesting, as long as there is a focus on weather behind the photogrpahy aspect.  Since he is self-taught, that would be an encouragement to amateur photographers out there.
I could learn a few Aussie idioms, too.

Crystal Egger seems to have trouble pronouncing things sometimes, when she was working with Chris Warren, their banter was a bit awkward to me for some reason.

It was either Jim Cantore or Chris Warren who said that 2010 is now in a three-way tie for the third most active hurricane season on record (modern, satellite era).  1995's "Tanya" was the last storm that year.

By the end of October, 2005 - we were at Beta already.  The last storm (#27 "Zeta") was the longest-lived storm going into 2006.  The last advisory for the 2005 season was January 6, 2006 - the NHC people were happy to call it a season at that point.

It's down to 85mph, but the forecast track has the center of Paula going along the coast of Cuba for three days becoming an post-tropical depression by then.  It's like it's tracing the coastline!  That's weird.

Wasn't Paloma the P storm of 2008 that also hit Cuba?

I've noticed The Weather Channel has been timings its dismissals around anniversaries, etc.  Are they deliberately trying to rub salt into the wounds they've inflicted?

I think it is more "September 30", "October 1" kind of thing.  I had no idea this happened.  I thought she might have been on vacation or something.  It's puzzling to me that they bring in somebody new to replace her position like that - one would think that they would have a "veteran" OCM fill-in until a suitable replacement could be found. 

Sadly, this may continue as long as the economy is as bad as it is.  If money is not coming in, they aren't going to be able to support all of the salaries.  There are likely people behind-the-scenes affected as well, I'd bet.

So these are new?  If so, it sounds interesting.  I liked the shows they put together.  The fire building with that red thing that dropped temperatures 300F was pretty cool.

I thought there was already a show about the shooting flames at walls to test house siding.

^Ah, the global disk satellites.  Those were a rare treat.  I liked how they put them in every so often.

That wind gust map was cool, too.  They use those "HD frames" for numbers today - you can't fit nearly as much information as you could before.

....and the radars - I loved the three-letter identifiers.  I started to learn the cities by their codes.  Those three letters often have meanings/history to them.
CMH - Port Columbus Airport (Ohio) actually stands for Columbus Municipal Hangar.

It's an interesting device.
Before I saw the clip, I thought something was going to pop up like in Star Wars. 

Strap a keyboard to it and I could work on it - spilling coffee would not be a problem.
Practicality?  I don't know, but it was interesting to see.

I like the segment they put together, though.

Harry Miller - Open House.  Ever since seeing that 5 minute clip on TWC Classics, I had to get that song.  I really like the ending (that was never played on TWC).  The musicians "fall apart" and it sounds like they are warming up and playing their own parts.

I remember way back when the radars were "action radars" - for the time, that was interesting.
I like the dotted track, too.  Even the lins is okay, as long as there are dots.  Centers of cyclones do wobble - Earl did that in the Caribbean. 

I liked the wind field maps, too - orange was tropical storm force, red was hurricane force, and white was major hurricane force.
