I can't even make out what the city is in northern Kansas on the regional map.  :hmm:

I don't know....1998 to me doesn't sound like it is back far enough.  I thought he was on the old set before the big move around '97.
I have always thought he was a neat guy.

WLWT has their own channel for weather updates on my cable.  I see him all the time (well, during the week).  Otherwise, I watch it for Valerie Abati - she is a HOTTIE!.

I can see them covering this to give viewer a sense of how Nashville has recovered from the floods that affected the Grand Ole Opry.

It looks there has been some graphics changes recently - mapwise and some fonts.

I still have a lot of trouble with the maps that are "contoured" temperature maps.  You slap boxes on for cities during the Planner and it makes it worse  :thrilled:.

I like the filled in isotherms - yellow for all 60s, tan for all 50s, royal blue for all 40s
They keep using that thinking it's just dandy, and I am like "what color is Cincinnati?" Orange? Red? Somehere in between?

They'll be focusing on more fluff and less content. :(

I was kind of surprised to see low pressure centers coming off the Africa coast.  They fall apart pretty quickly, but there had to have been two areas that had a circulation.

I didn't have any of the green stuff or the rabbit in the moon, but I did have, in 1991, a problem with the light snow icon (the cloud and the small snowflake).  Something got messed up and only half of the black snowflake would show up.  It took forever for it to be fixed.

I ran across this video today of the 4000 having several hiccups...
It kept relooping for at least almost 7 minutes in the video.
There's a catchy production music playing for about 2 1/2 minutes at the beginning, it also reloops the first time the 4000 reloops in the video.
At 1:08 mins in, the 4000 is terribly degraded.
The Travel Cities Forecast comes up frozen after the almanac and then starts moving from the forecast for Dallas onward.
Trammell Starks kicks in at around 3:08 mins in and plays for the rest of the video.
The Extended Travel Forecast pops up randomly twice briefly.

This video is from the evening of December 2, 1996

Local Forecast Major Malfunction - December 2nd 1996

It's interesting to see the cities that report to it.  My regional forecast had Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, and Evansville.  Oddly, Indianapolis was in the list of seven local cities (over two hours away).  The name was too long to fit in the regional forecast without it running off the page .

It is still good to hear the Rippingtons.  From the time I found the title of one of their songs, I kept buying cassettes.

I still have my Weekend in Monaco cassette and play it often.

Is it just me or did Crystal have this look on her face like, "FINALLY, I can go home and get the hell out of here." look when that extreme weather video briefly cut off and the shot went back to the studio. Chris also looked awkward and embarrassed, trying to slowly walk off camera.   :P
I just remember seeing Crystal take a swipe at her hair while she thought the camera wasn't looking.  She must have thought that a piece of her hair was sticking out due to static electricity or something.  It was kind of funny with that "you didn't see that" look when she was on-camera to report.  :bleh:

I only ever saw him doing the early morning stuff.
The stuff they would do at those hours, and get away with, was awesome - I miss that.
George Elliot's "WAKE UP!" at 2:30am was an example of their priceless moments.

Ray is pretty cool.  B)

I kinda wonder if the management isn't trying to make him into a kind of "Jim Cantore, Jr."  B)
