I was just looking over my forum profile and I saw that I still have the IntelliStar number listed.  My cable company duplicated the HD feed on the SD channel several months ago (has it been almost a year?), and yet I never got round to taking the old information off my profile.  We don't have an SD Star anymore, but, in a way, I suppose I don't want to remove the number... as if it's a historical record.

Oh! Also, I think the holiday countdowns were already added. I've seen the holiday countdown before. So I believe It's not new. 

I had seen it previously in the national feed sidebar, but only within the past couple of weeks (give or take) on the locally-generated sidebar.  The pollen count, however, I've always seen.

I think Obama should ban other states from opening barbecue restaurants...everyone should be forced to come to Tennessee for barbecue. We need a boost in our economy.

Obama should not only ban other states from opening barbecue restaurants, but the only legal barbecue restaurants should be in one particular city in Kentucky... at one particular address.  One barbecue restaurant, period.  That should boost the economy of the owner of that restaurant.

Obama should do something and stop allowing other states from building casinos. The effect is devastating and nobody is stopping the saturation from getting out of control.

The federal government should make it illegal for other locations in the northeast to open casinos in order to save those in Atlantic City?  Why should one city be given special treatment?

Yes, certain private individuals, including those who post here, do actually have their own Star units of various generations.

No, a cable company will not give or sell a Star to you.  It's against their contract with The Weather Channel and they would be in very serious trouble for doing so.

That said, even if you acquired one, it's not like you could just plug it in and start getting your own personalized local forecast segments from it.

A traffic segment has come to my area's LDL. I don't know if they'll revive it on the LF, though.

Traffic in a 60-second local forecast segment?  Doubtful.

The other alternative is to buy a TV antenna, which you will own, connect it to your TV, and enjoy the many free broadcast stations out there.

And all you would get would be the major networks, such as ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX?

Plus PBS, plus independent stations, CW, My Network TV, etc., not to mention all the subchannels available.

If you're interested in not spending so much money for television, that's the option you get for free.
