I still see the Hurricane Irene banner.  On both computers.  And with cleared caches.  :(

That's absurd, I've never heard of such a thing happening. The least they can do is to revert back to the August/September 2010 playlist again. :P

Not if TWC's rights to the music have already run out.

Hurricane Central / Re: Tropical Storm Lee
« on: September 04, 2011, 11:17:07 PM »
EDIT: Lee is no longer being followed by the National Hurricane Center.

It will still be followed by the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center at www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/tropical/tropstorms.shtml for as long as it remains a discernible system and affects the United States.  The HPC numbers their bulletins following the NHS and along the same schedule, so the next advisory will be at 5:00 am EDT.

Whille everyone else is beginning or going back to college, I am entering the eighth grade Tuesday. Going to be a lot of algebra, some grammar/spelling/literature, American History (yay!), and science. I love school, but I don't love the homework.

For the first six grades, I went to public school... last year and years on I will be in Private school studying under the A Beka Curriculum.

Wow - the 8th grade seems like a whole lifetime ago for me!  How did we ever manage to survive that age?  :)

It's wonderful that you have such a strong interest in meteorology at such a young age.  If you choose to make this your career, your early enthusiasm will certainly pay off.

I know that the weather conditions disappeared due to an error during the latest upgrade, but are there any plans to bring them back?  It was very interesting to see what the weather is where our members are posting from.

It's Labor Day weekend! What are your plans for the weekend? Short trips to the beach, heading out to visit relatives?

I'm heading to Canada on Sunday to visit Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a couple of my suite mates. I've heard stories about the border crossing, especially about the Americans being real pricks when you try to get back into the United States.

Be sure you have a U.S. passport or passport card.  You can't cross the border with just a driver's license anymore.

Is 92.5 FM not enough for the area in terms of radio Latino or radio en espaņol?

I wonder what the proportion of English to Spanish radio stations is in, say, Miami.

There's not a single classical music radio station in the Orlando/Daytona Beach market.  Even worse, there's only one NPR station, and it barely, just barely, gets picked up in Daytona Beach.  :cry3: :cry3: :cry3:

At least digital cable offers two classical music stations on Music Choice.

In fact, this market went from 2 PBS stations to just 1, and that last 1 announced it was leaving PBS this summer.  If it weren't for a last-minute deal with a local college's non-commercial station to pick up PBS, the Orlando/Daytona Beach market would have been the largest market in the country without PBS!  I'm sure the cable company would have started carrying a more distant PBS station... maybe... if that would have happened.

It's just habit.  In most places where poetry and other literary works are posted, each work gets its own thread.  Obviously, this isn't the most common place for such things to be posted, but, as I said, it's an old and hard to break habit. :footinmouth:

A lot of people have been writing to me today, and I apologize for not being able to respond to each message.  For whatever reason, I'm having a miserable time trying to post messages.  It takes an average of 3-4 page reloads and a lot of waiting for me to be able to get a message posted to the board.  I'm having a lot of time-out errors, so this is why I haven't been able to write more than a very small number of responses.

I have been having a terrible time trying to post any messages at all today - even worse than last night.

I guess I could have gone either way.  There's no rule telling me what I should do here.  If multiple threads bother people, I'm sure an administrator can easily combine them all into one.
