I think it's a case of having to ban the person after he returns and is positively identified.  It's utterly impossible to actually prevent him from creating new accounts.

Last night's shopping spree on Amazon.com included a new set of bedding (about time - what I have now is more than 10 years old) and the DVD set of the first season of "Here's Lucy."  I got both on sale, free shipping, and paid for some of it with what was left on my gift card account.

It looks fantastic - much better than Weatherscan itself!

LOL!  Did you try clearing out your cache?  It's possible you recently downloaded an incomplete file, and your computer keeps pulling that incomplete file out of the cache to display the image.

I've never chewed gum, and, now that I have dentures, it's even more unlikely that I'll ever start!

Daytona Beach is 41° now, with an expected overnight low around 28°.  The last time the weather was this cold here was in the middle of last January.  Fortunately, it won't last long.  I dislike heat, but I hate cold even more.  :)

General Discussion / Re: The Debt Ceiling Deadline
« on: December 30, 2011, 02:49:01 AM »
I once made a political thread in this forum and was rebuked for it.  Yet others make political threads, and yet I still end up getting rebuked in the end.

I've never supported anything any Republican has done, and I never will.

It's posts like this that make me want to leave this forum altogether.

Either I'm the only one here who doesn't support the Republicans in anything, or I grossly overestimate my intelligence when it comes to fiscal matters.  Either way, I'm not bringing politics into this forum anymore.

What's the alternative?  End all spending altogether?  Close all municipal fire departments and staff them only with volunteers?  Close all the public schools and force parents to pay for private schooling?  End Social Security and Medicare payments?  Stop importing oil?  Nuke the rest of the world and take their resources?

One has to think rationally.  It is going to cost money to cut the debt.  And, besides, this isn't Obama's debt.  When George W. Bush took office, the U.S. had the biggest budget surplus in history.  Bush put that to an end right quick, and the debt's been growing ever since.  Bill Clinton may have had a sleazy personal life, but at least he knew how to balance budgets.

Too bad there hasn't been a push by NBC/TWC to replace these channels with WeatherScan. Pretty much a waste of an opportunity there. Who knows what they want to do with that product!

That's a great idea!  On the other hand, is it technically feasible?  It would require each individual broadcast station to have its own Intellistar for the purpose.
