General Weather Chat / Re: La Nina Bows Out
« on: June 18, 2011, 01:00:12 PM »
I am glad to see La Nina go.  La Nina causes droughts in the south and Florida and hopefully, with it gone, near-normal rainfall will return and with ENSO-neutral during hurricane season, we will get a slow-moving weak tropical storm or depression. Also, it's still early in Florida's rainy season, so that pattern with the sea breezes and daily thunderstorms has plenty of time to set in and hopefully, it will.

Good riddance, La Nina!

Amen! Time to get some rain down south.

My idea: Dump the "Top 5" video segment. That is so pointless. They could take that time and focus on the weather in a specific region, especially if severe weather is present. Let whoever is in the media center do a tease on videos and direct them to weather.com.

To sum things up: It's too hot and too dry. A tropical disturbance that tracked across Florida will stay off the Louisiana coast, leaving us rainless. Many records were smashed today across the region and more are forecast to be broken both Thursday and Friday.

Below is an NWS graphic showing the records:

General Discussion / Re: Fall TV Shows Officially Cancelled

I love "The Event". "Law & Order L.A." was cancelled too.

I know I am sick and tired of all these crime and law shows.

Here's a link to all the shows that were cancelled or coming to an end:
