I think any parent paying their child's cell phone bill should be slapped in the face (no offense to anyone's parent).
Mine have for the last two years, but they pushed for it while I've been at college.  That will change in just a couple of weeks...our contract is up.

I think cell phones serve a practical use for HS freshman and up.  Coming from someone who was in after-school activities before I could drive, they really help.  Under that level, though, unacceptable.  And texting....UGH.

I don't really want an iPhone.  I have a regular cell, a Palm PDA, and a iPod.  Good enough.

Programming and Graphics / Re: Old segment openers being re-used?

Yes, Weekend Outlook has indeed been using 2003 Weekend Planner's segment openers. We have yet to even see Weekend Outlook's actual openers. Hopefully, they will fix this when WO relaunches in HD.
What show are we discussing again?  All I know is a show called "Weekend Outloo".

Also, apparently Mish Michaels is going to be on A&B later.
She's still with the network!?

And since my tuner's out of commission right now, is someone going to cap this for us?

I just found out that the STAR team has an open position! It's listed on the careers site.
Ahh yes, the careers site.  Down the line (1+ year from now), I hope to take one of those spots.
Which dept?
Application Developer (third and fourth on the Careers page)

I think the oil bubble has finally burst. Look for prices to continue a downward trend.
I personally think we are in a small cyclical patter around the $130/barrel level until after Labor Day, in which the bubble will deflate down to a pattern around $80-$100/barrel.

OMGWTF AHHHHHHH STORM ALERT MODE TIME NOW AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

(Please.  You know TWC is thinking that.)
Dolly is expected to be a major flooding issue for South Texas, so in this case it would actually make sense for them to go Storm Alert.
Whoops.  In that case then:

Guy 1:  "Looks like a flooding event.  Maybe we should do our storm alert status?"
Guy 2:  "Nah.  They can deal with flooding."

(Not the flooding.  Them not doing Storm Alert.)
