Though it has finally sunk in, I'm still stunned about Martin's passing. From what I saw on his Facebook page, he was just getting into the swing of things at station WVEC in his area. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family & friends. I also hope that the TWC Today forums continue on.

This is actually one of my own. It's of Skinny the once obese cat featured at the 2014 Dallas Pet Expo. To date, it has reached 1,777 views. The funny thing is I never expected any of my vids to crack the 1,000 view mark.

At this rate, all the intelliStar systems could be extinct by next year possibly. Maybe sooner. 

And you could be right. As of today, Time Warner Cable in North Texas has done away with the IntelliStars and simulcasting the HD feed of The Weather Channel on all SD channels. I gotta admit, the transitions on the IS2 are much smoother, and the sound quality is much better than the original SD feed. Though the IntelliStar will be missed.

It's probably been a long time since a weather warning (other than a Winter Storm Warning a week or 2 ago) was issued for my area, but has the alert tone changed on the IntelliStars?

Today, my Comcast headend replaced the TWC SD Feed with a letterboxed version of the IS2 HD Feed. It appears cable companies are slowly phasing out the IntelliStar.

Charter in Fort Worth also did the same thing three years ago.
