Everything Else TWC / Re: The TWC Icons Discussion Thread
« on: July 23, 2008, 11:45:36 AM »
The web-friendly icons kicked back into the main weather.com database as of now.

Yes, they did. I didn't realize they came back last night; I just noticed them this morning. Hopefully they will STAY this time.

For Hurricane Dolly coverage, weather.com has live conditions for cities in south Texas. The live conditions use much bigger versions of the new icons:

I would love to see the "Live Conditions" box added to the Weather On Your Website program. If for nothing else than to create a "Getaway" page for my "Weather Window" site.

Excellent find! Thanks for posting those videos Tyler!

Wow, I think they look great!

I noticed them on my weather.com Gold, but not on TV BECAUSE DEAR GOD THEY SPEND EVERY SECOND ON HURRICANE DOLLY.
The changes only apply to weather.com and its services, though I would love to see the new icons put to use on the National LFs if nothing else.

Whoa, this is absolutely crazy. Now weather.com has switched back to the old icons.  Possibly what I saw earlier was just weather.com testing the icons to see how they would look?  :dunno:
I was kinda puzzled myself. Though the test might be the possible explaination.

Judging from the pictures in your earlier post, it does look good though.

I'm gonna miss the old icons set though, but I do like the change.

At least I still have the previous set in ".png" form.

Speaking of those new icons, I have just created over a dozen of them myself from that set since yesterday. Click on the link to see them.

All the talk about the new modified icons set (a crossover between the 1998-2006 and the current sets) in TWC Today has made me create over a dozen of new ones on PhotoShop.

I could still recall one blooper on "Day Planner" in 2006 (I think). They were showing conditions in Tampa, FL; however their temperature read 627*F.

Nothing will happen to the LOT8s. However, I would love to see TWC being streamed online.
