What the heck, why are they removing the weather.com branding all of a sudden?
Seems very odd!

Maybe NBC might rename or rebrand The Weather Channel and it's website.
 NBC has nothing to do with decisions like that.. those are all done by TWC themselves

I've noticed it as well. Could be a technical glitch on their part.

On Thanksgiving Night, I heard Linus and Lucy on "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" on ABC.

I also heard it on KVIL 103.7 Lite FM when they just started their Christmas music, as well as KLUV Oldies Radio 98.7 HD2.

General Discussion / 'Dallas' star Larry Hagman dead at 81
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:44:13 AM »
Just when the reboot of "Dallas" was getting good, Larry Hagman passed away. May he R.I.P.

Quote from: WFAA-TV
DALLAS -- Larry Hagman, known for more than three decades as oil tycoon J.R. Ewing on the TV show Dallas, died Friday afternoon, News 8 has confirmed.

The Dallas Morning News reports Hagman died at a Dallas hospital with several of his co-stars by his side.

The North Texas native was part of the original Dallas cast that debuted in 1980. The show returned last year on cable, was a hit, and season two was currently being shot in Dallas.

Last night, I heard "A Long December" by Counting Crows in iHeartRadio's World Class Rock station, as well as on my localized "Music Summit" on KZPS 92.5 HD2. (They're practically one in the same station, just programmed differently).

Since the secession issue first came up (when I was first handed the petition for TX to secede), several bells and whistles went off in my head as well as the uneasy feelings in my stomach. I mean...what were those bozos thinking? :hammer:

The same thing occurred during the Bush Administration in the early 2000s, except it was less publicized back then. Just some sore losers who weren't happy that the president they didn't elect is in office, so they figured secession is the solution. It's not only childish, embarrassing, and time-wasting; but it also worries millions of Americans like me.

The Dallas Cowboys lost again, this time to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons.

Yep, the Cowboys are screwed.

As I'm in an apartment where I get free cable with the rent, here's my list courtesy of Time Warner Cable (This goes for much of North Texas served by TWCable):

2 - C-SPAN (KDTN [Daystar] was on this slot, but for some reason, they eliminated it and kept its digital version on Ch. 350. Not like I watch it anyway)
3 - Discovery Channel
4 - KDFW (Fox)
5 - KXAS (NBC)
7 - KDFI (MyNetworkTV)
8 - WFAA (ABC)
9 - KDAF (CW)
10 - KXTX (Telemundo)
11 - KTVT (CBS)
12 - KTXA (Independent)
13 - KERA (PBS)
14 - KFWD (MundoFox)
17 - KDTX (TBN)
18 - Eternal World Television (EWTN)
20 - KSTR (TeleFutura)
21 - KAZD (Azteca America)
22 - QVC
23 - KUVN (Univision)
24 - KTXD (Me TV)
25 - WGN America
26 - KPXD (Ion Television)
29 - KMPX (Estrella TV)
30 - Galavision (at my end, I'm seeing their HD feed scrunched up in a standard 4:3 screen)
31 - NBC Sports
32 - Spike
33 - ESPN2
34 - ESPN
35 - Golf Channel
36 - Fox Sports Southwest

C-SPAN's 2 (28) & 3 (6), All the community access channels (16, 95-99), Sonlife Broadcasting Network (15), TXCN: Texas Cable News (38), TruTV (47), ABC Family (61), CMT (63), and Oxygen (73) are only viewable with a digital set-top box. Though I wish Time Willy-Nilly...err...Time Warner Cable would leave TruTV and ABC Family alone. :club: IMO, I think VH1, MTV, Fox News Channel, TLC and MSNBC should've been the ones switched to digital. Though it's only a matter of time before we're all required to get a set-top box to continue watching.

Never cared for it. They were sliding down the slippery slope for as long as I can remember when it comes to programming content
Like The Weather Channel (among other dozen networks such as MTV), they're trying to connect with a new audience.

For the National Tier:

I love The Weather Channel's 1998-2001 graphics/music package before their "Live By It" revamp, especially the "Weather Center PM" one.

I think the only package that stands out in the 2001-2005 era was "Evening Edition". Actually sounds like a weather bulletin.

I also love hearing the 2004-current music package on ABC's overnight show "World News Now". (See the first 7 seconds and the last 20 seconds of this news story video)

As for the local packages, it's mostly "The Spirit of Texas" news music/graphic packages on WFAA-TV.

On Friday, I saw the IS2 in action. Believe it or not, TWC's HD feed was on a standard channel (95) on Charter Communications.

IS2 #028339 (Serving Fort Worth)
