8:30?! Wow, I sure wish it started that late!
Yeah, that certainly would be nice. Unfortunately, society doesn't allow it mainly because of athletics and plans that people make in the afternoon. Back when I went to Hope Middle School (maybe it was Elliott Elementary :P) in Holt, it actually started at that time.
But yeah, it would be nice.

So this morning, I cleared out the last of the remaining raw files from what used to be my primary external hard drive. I stored everything from New Year's 2009 on it in addition to it being the HD to which files were written. I now have a 2 TB hard drive specifically for raw files, and I haven't even looked through any of the files on it since I hooked it up on Christmas Day.
But over the past 3 weeks, I deleted raw files from the original hard drive, and it now has 1.11 TB of space... even with the 3,000+ videos (some of which are high-def) I have on it.

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Although I  have only seen a couple of them, I love those Open Mike segments Mike Bettes does.
As do I. Blunt, but to the point.

Also, this is the first time I've seen "Snow Squalls" on the weekly planner graphic before, and that was on January 6th...

#1, your desktop is slow as hell lol
Very true, nice memory!

#3 is the lie

I can record TWC in 4 places at any one point in time if need-be
My dad is able to subscribe to Broadstripe since it serves Haslett, but he likes Comcast
I am part of the 3% of the people in this country who leave their Christmas lights up all year

A shot in the dark...#2?
Wrong! Number 3 lol :P

It's actually cul-de-sac, and you've told me #3 is wrong

I have a very fast desktop computer that is easy to get things done on
The biggest snow of my lifetime was December 11, 2000
I drive through 18 stoplights to get to school every morning

Has anyone tried to load Facebook around 6:25 PM? It's not working for me... Maybe just another FB error.
Facebook is working fine on my end. I sometimes have those issues though.

Looks like the gas industry is taking a big hit so they need to make themselves look good so they spend lots of money to make a 30 second commercial on ABC World News. Perhaps they can't afford that ferrari they wanted? Dunno.
My thoughts exactly when I first started seeing that ad last year. I just mute the TV and dismiss the ad. As soon as I can afford technology that does not involve oil/gas (or as much of it as conventional cars do), it will not be a concern to me.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Charter... gone for good?
« on: January 20, 2011, 06:51:14 PM »
I know that when I typed in Munising, MI's zip code on TWC HD viewerlink that it said Charter carries TWC HD. That's hard to believe because Munising is a sparcely populated town up in XL country. Also, I believe Charter carries TWCHD in some southern/western headends.
Ironically actually, most of the UP is served by Intellistars, as far as I know. Munising draws Marquette's unit (that's how I recorded it in December 2009). But yeah, that is odd for that area to carry the channel. I would imagine big markets like St Louis (where Charter is headquartered, interestingly) have TWC [HD].

That is what we have here in Birmingham, too. My sister and her family, who live about 8 miles down the road from us, had it and then dropped it and switched to AT&T U-verse. The only other cable company that provides service in the Birmingham area is Bright House.
At least you have that option. We would give anything to have a cable (and not satellite) provider other than Comcast.

I've only been to Chicago twice in my lifetime
As much as I like to travel, I've only been outside of the Eastern Time Zone four times in my lifetime
I have three cats, named Grace, Mocha, and Maestro.

Two pints of strawberry milk (yum ) and a soft pretzel for lunch. I don't usually eat much for lunch.

While we're on the subject, my yearbook was actually increased this past year, and is now $50. Only the senior section and sometimes the covers are in full color as far as I know.

It is already looking like this will not be a banner winter for anyone in this state not in a NW-N flow lake effect belt  ß

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Charter... gone for good?

Charter's old slogan used to be "Brings your home to life"
To be honest, I liked that one better... but this one really isn't that bad. Charter apparently has its own youtube channel, so they are definitely trying to make good public relations. Does anyone know if they have a facebook fan page?

I have to say it's kind of deceptive for them to be advertising that they have so many HD channels, and yet they really don't. No Charter area that I know of has TWC in HD... but I also find it hard to believe that no one who has Charter has TWC HD.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New HD LDL
« on: January 20, 2011, 01:59:52 PM »
I have to admit I love the new LDL. I love the sleek and shiny appearance that the colors have. But with all this talk of the LDL, I have to wonder, did HD viewers see any overlay (LDL) on programming before the LDA came out in April or May 2009?

Got the Droid Incredible for Christmas... goodbye old obsolete enV3 that kept turning off on me! I just wish the internet would work on my phone while I'm talking to someone on the phone.

Back in 2006 or so (right around or before the time I began high school), Haslett added 1 minute onto each hour, so the school day goes from 7:50 to 2:23, instead of 7:50 to 2:17. It used to be that there were only 51 minutes in each "hour", but it has been increased to 56. This is one reason why the middle school didn't have to make up a missed day when it was vandalized a couple years ago.

Is the HD STAR beginning to roll out on more Comcast systems? It seems to only be rolling out on smaller cable providers at this point.
