Anyone mind telling me what the difference is between the showers icon and the rain icon? Likewise the intensity differences between many of them?

Now I can easily tell...this is rain, this is snow, and so on. Sure, the 2006-2010 icons were more realistic, but they were very hard to see in SD.

Sounds to me like you've got the two sets mixed up

Definitely more vibrant and distinguishable when compared to the old set.

Actually, you're wrong. They are no different than the old set in that there are several icons that can't be set apart (i.e. Showers, Rain...)

Well, the change has been made on the Intellistar. At least with the old set, I was able to ignore the motions in the clouds on them... but these are like the motion ads on the Intellistar... you can't ignore them and look the other way so easily.

I HATE the new suns and the new thunderstorm icons!!  They look like an elementary school documentary, not to be confused with cartoons or random circular food items!!!  BLAH!!!!  lol  As for the new title banners, they are better for screen real estate and general classiness but they need to get rid of that projection wall if they are going to continue to use them.  Return to the chromakey!

Sorry for the double post, but I'm not sure what just happened here. During the text based on the 6:38 PM EST LF, the Intellistar flashed, went out for a few seconds, and slowly came back on.

What I really want to know is what TWC's true motive for this is. The last one, while I still don't understand it completely, TWC presented a reason for updating the icons. But honestly, there was no need. The other icons already looked realistic... what's the reason now?

Like I said before, I hate being on this end of things... simply because I have no idea what will happen next. Simply put, I'm nervous about the changes to the Intellistar, since Molly reported the new icons on the satellite feed

No changes currently on the Intellistar.
