General Discussion / Re: Report cards

Oh, I see. That makes sense.

BTW, here are my grades. I talked to my World History teacher after school today, and he told me he was incredibly impressed that I am at the top of his class. In his words, I barely missed one or two points the whole semester thus far. My parents have also told me how impressed they are :P

Banned for I have no idea why Time Warner shows up for any areas around Detroit, since according to Time Warner's website, service is not available anywhere in Michigan. Mike is correct... Bright House, WOW!, and Comcast serve the Greater Detroit Area.

lol guys, my mom and I also saw the same kind of tree near Haslett on my way home from school... and she thought it looked like snow as well :bleh:

Mike and Christina, I've just been having a few problems with some students, and I don't know if I want to keep trying to talk to people.

But anyways Christina, allow me to get you up to speed. Haslett High School (where I go to school), has it's own TV station, which is amongst the best school-run TV channels in the country (don't listen to what Mike says... j/k :P ). It broadcasts it's own feed through Comcast on Channel 22 for viewers of 22842... in Haslett, the E.L., and select areas in Okemos. Usually once a week, one group of students puts together a news-ish broadcast. It consists of a mix of programs we film and put together on editing software, and live on-air anchor segments. Other students man the control room and cameras, etc. There are 4 groups of students, with about 24 students in all. You have to take a TV Media Issues class (which I am this semester), and also do a remote shoot. This is where you go to a performance, play, etc, and man a camera filming it. It also involves an application. I had to type a 3 page essay, get 2 people to look it over and revise it, and I also had to ask 3 teachers for letters of recommendation. After about a month, Mr. Town (the director, if you will, of the Vision program), posted the list of 24 or so students that got on for next year, and I was amongst them! :D

Well I see the Getaway Forecast sites were changed to the summer set today. It's weird how Gaylord, on my winter set, displayed "Temporarily Unavailable" right before the switch, which it also did last April.

We're all just waiting for summer. But at this point, due to an extensive list of personal issues, I don't know if I want to make the most of the time I have left in high school (questioning whether it's worth it or not), or just get through it.

Also, anyone up for some blossoming trees? I took this pic from my second story deck right next to my room :)

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

I agree, I like Betty a lot, she's is my favorite OCM now. She seems to be more happy and energetic since she's been on WV w/ Kelly.
lol she probably realizes how lucky she is to still have her job j/k :bleh:

And also, what is up with TWC's scheduling right now? They're airing the LFs over 2 minutes late.

Banned for speaking of satellite TV... most of the Detroit area hotels have it. Sure wish I could find a hotel with Comcast that does not block access to the cable.

Here are my third quarter grades:

English: 77% (C)
Algebra 1: 102% (AA? :P )
Consumer Math: 90% (A)
World Cultures: 90% (A)
Music Appreciation: 87% (B )
PE: 100% (A)
Individual Studies: 99% (A)

Not bad, wish I could raise that English grade, though.
Wow, two math classes?
I could never go through that.

Wow. After a very nasty stomach bug, it just feels so good to be able to eat, walk around again, etc. I forgot how bad it really was, so I guess, in a way, it was a good thing.

There's a lot of people on the forums this morning. Aren't y'all supposed to be in school?  ;)

Glad you're doing better Christina, I know you've went through a lot.

Today was One World Day, and it was interesting, but I skipped the second half of it.

Edit: Whoa, I just noticed we got a Freeze Watch! We never get those here. I guess it's going to get pretty chilly tomorrow night. Also loving how all bulletins now appear on the LDL.

Here's the full list

Yeah, I'm not thinking that list is accurate.

Here are some corrections I noticed right away:
-Baltimore, DFW, and New Orleans have the overview map
-Sacramento and Indianapolis do not.

I can when the graphics were obviously not developed by TWC (who would actually put thought and effort into it)... rather inside a week or so by NBC :P
They were developed by TWC, not NBC.
Like I said, it's obvious that thought and effort was not put into the development of the new graphics, hence why I noted that this would not have happened without direct influence (in my opinion, force) on part of NBC

Yeah Aaron, congrats! Does this mean you'll be working on Channel 925? Or whatever it was for educational access? If so, i'll tune in
Yes, I will be working on it and I intend to be an "OCM", if you will :P
Haslett puts out its TV through Channel 22 to all viewers of 22842, so next year you should see me. But thanks

I'll pass my turn on the pronunciation of that volcano to someone else as I don't even know how to begin saying it.
I just wonder how they happened to squeeze that on the lower thirds
