TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Say It Ain't So, Time Warner!
« on: March 03, 2009, 02:40:46 PM »
I remember hearing about this. I was watching the Spongebob movie when I saw a black banner with details about this dispute scrolling along it. For a few minutes, I actually thought we were getting Time Warner!

I know that it is available with Comcast, but we are already paying them enough money!  :nono:  :club:
I hope to be getting AT&T U-Verse soon, which comes with TWC in HD.  :)

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Jim Cantore leaving?
« on: March 03, 2009, 02:19:59 PM »
He doesn't have to.
He probably doesn't. However, he knows how vital he is to TWC; he is practically the face of TWC. So, he is staying.  :thrilled:

Local Forecast / Re: Weatherstar 4000 Locations that remain
« on: March 03, 2009, 02:15:29 PM »
That looks like a pretty complete list. You even included the 4000 here in Bel Air!
Have you posted videos of this 4000? f so, I would like to see it
Also, as mentioned above, I hope to be going to Yale, MI during Spring Break in April. I hope that the 4000 still exists there. If not, it will be an XL, because Intellistar is not necessay there

Correct me if I'm wrong, but could that have been a beta test to a new flavor?
Perhaps it was, but why?  :dunno:

Once again, my intellistar is not working properly

Here is how it looked at 4:58 AM this morning:

And again at 5:08 AM, but with the metro forecast map fixed:

Notice the terrible line-up and the fact that the regional forecast map goes straight to the week ahead.

Anybody else's doing this?

Does anyone know if HiRAD is capable of reporting Blowing Snow? There's been some of that here and I've seen some airport stations reporting blowing snow, but no locations on my IntelliStar are reporting it.  :hmm:
That's a good question.  Sorry, I don't know the answer either :dunno: , but it seems to me like HiRAD is incapable of reporting heavy snow and/or visibilities down below 0.3 miles as well. During recent snows here (and even a heavy sleet event in November) the visibility got down to zero but HiRAD said 0.3 miles.
