Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: March 07, 2009, 09:38:08 PM »
Does anyone know if the XL had a PM clouds icon?
No, I had always thought that there should be one since Sunday afternoons always seem to cloud up for no apparent reason. There is an "Am Clouds, PM Sun" icon, but no "PM Clouds" icon. Then again, try using one. It would be interesting to see

BTW, can you get any recordings of the Detroit Intellistar?

Sure.  Have you seen this one yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN2Zkv3c4u4#

All future recordings will be uploaded to that account as well.

Wow, I did not see that. Can you accept my friend invite (socool775)?

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: AT&T U-Verse?

Well, that doesn't make any sense
Haven't I already told you you won't get a local forecast with U-Verse? :foolish:
Yes, you have, and I get it now
It's just that I don't know why that is. I am desperate to get away from the arrogant monopoly known as Comcast, and this is not encouraging

If you have the chance to leave Comcast, please do so it will save you alot of money!
Oh I will, and I agree 100% that it will save me money. It just isn't available yet   <_<

I think TWC still says that AT&T does not have IntelliStar units. Watch out.
Huh?  :dunno:
Look at my post for a better explanation.
I still don't understand what that means, I am still learning things

Speaking of gas prices, I made an awesome video Monday night! With permission, I took the audio from one of Localonthe8s' videos. It was from a local forecast played 3/1 at 7:58 PM. The music hasn't played since, but it really fits this video well! These pictures I actually went out on my bike intentionally to get. There have always been many instances where I am in the right place at the right time.  The BP towards the end is a prime example of this. I went back 2 minutes after I took those pictures, and the sign was turned off to avoid total embarassment and a possible lawsuit with the state of Michigan.

AT&T U-Verse is springing up in several areas across the country, and is already in the state of Michigan. The cable service, accessed by set-top boxes for each TV, is expected to be widely available in the East Lansing area. I am hoping to be able to get it within the next 12 months, replacing Comcast. When I get it, I will be getting TWC HD as well! I am stoked!  :thrilled:
Can't wait!

Here's my take on Global Warming:
It seems to me like the result of Global Warming is not necessarily warmer weather per se, but weather patterns have become more extreme. Heat waves are more common and a lot more severe. Warm ups are more prevalent in the winter. As it was, Lansing has set 2 record highs this winter (12/27- 61, 2/10- 60) which is highly unusual. Severe weather has become more prominent, potent, common, and widespread as of late. I will also buy that Global Warming is leading to more and stronger hurricanes. Despite the quietness of the 2006 and 2007 hurricane seasons, Hurricanes Ike and Katrina are prime examples, as are the 2004, 2005, and 2008 hurricane seasons. I agree that temps are warming, but extreme weather is the more prevalent result.

Just my 2 cents

I had school off on 12/19 due to that big snow (the night before the intellistar was cueing in all the wrong places!  )! Also had school off on 1/16 due to the arctic cold  B)
