Local Forecast / Re: Satellite LF Sightings

According to the Satellite LF, some radars are glitching across the Midwest and parts of the plains, including the radar from my NWS office in Grand Rapids.

I understand I have been posting a lot as of late.

The LDL has been on non-stop for an hour, with the same tabs (should only display during nat'l broadcasts) rotating for that time. I wonder what is going on

Everything Else TWC / Re: New slogan for The Weather Channel?
« on: May 07, 2009, 12:47:09 AM »
I was sneaking around the twcmediakit.com website today and found this link:
 http://www.twcmediakit.com/cable/
Watch the video. Besides making you possibly gag as we watch the well formatted early morning programming (6-7am) go up in smoke, also notice towards the end the narrator says "...another reason why WE OWN THE WEATHER" If they choose that as a new slogan, seeing as we have no "official" one in use currently, I may just give up on TWC totally. Thoughts?

Yeah. Here's my IMO: I hate it. I'm so not watching this crap. Al is my worst nightmare. I may give up TWC as well.

Yeah, I'm not too crazy about that slogan either. As I said a few days ago, I would find it impossible to completely give up on TWC. I sure wish they would go back to their "Live By It" slogan. I miss those days!   :cry3:

Programming and Graphics / Re: Another long form show on TWC?
« on: May 07, 2009, 12:42:45 AM »
I don't think this will be a long-form show, I think it's going to be Mike doing live reports, while you can watch more live action online.
True, but it seemed to come off that way at the beginning, IMO.

There. I even shortened my signature so I could add a few words to it. Now, it does look cluttered since there is little separation between each of my ideas.

Hate to tell you this. But I agree with Martin as well.

Signature defines as...
A signature (from Latin signare, "sign") is a handwritten (and sometimes stylized) depiction of someone's name, nickname or even a simple "X" that a person writes on documents as a proof of identity and intent

Simple as that, not a 2 paragraph essay on god knows what.
I don't really care if you agree with him or not. My signature is my signature, and that is that.

Well, I think it is just stupid and unnecessary. 7 lines is too short to say much of anything. As long as it is within reason, people should be allowed to set their own limits.
Do you really need to tell the entire history of the XL and IS and how you dont like it in a paragraph that is shown under EVERY post you make?
Actually, yes, I do. I have already shortened it myself, taking out the two qoutes I had there, and minor tidbits that did not add to the point I am attempting to make.
My signature was fine as it was, and did not clutter things up at all. I made sure to organize it and make it look neat. To me, my signature is a way to express my views. 7 lines is not enough, and 5 would not be a smart idea, IMO.

You guys all agree, fine. I don't. My signature is my signature and I should have control over how it looks. It was fine as it was.

A note of advice to all my friends: NEVER try or drink Diet Crush orange soda. It's nasty, and I just threw up from it.
Well, I don't really drink pop all that much anyway. I am more of a Slurpee person :P

All I'm going to say is that there are several people here who have sigs that are so big that their unsightly. I had thought long and hard about making similar restrictions, but just decided to go with the live and let live approach to the problem. I think Martin is 100% justified in making these restrictions. It seems to me that for the most part the only people not liking the restrictions are those who have sigs that are not within those restrictions.  <_<
