Localonthe8s, are you sure the XL was not affected?

Does anyone know if the IntelliStar still has its "significant weather mode," when the radar is shown more and other products (air quality, traffic products, etc) are shown less? I haven't seen this here since April 2007, and we've had plenty of winter storms and severe weather events since. Has this feature been discontinued?
I am not sure there is any mode for it, but you can see this in my "June 7th Flash Flooding" Video. I am guessing that in times of severe weather, the radar would need more time to loop, and there would be less time for other products.

Well I'm off to another sleepless night. Do you think the weather can be part of sleeping issues?
I tend to not sleep as good during hot and humid weather. I sleep more during the afternoons and less at night.
I too have the exact same problem. When I know something big is going to happen with the weather (snow, heavy rain, extreme cold, extreme heat, you get the picture) I will not get much sleep. In fact, back during the 07-08 Winter Season, I was up all night at least 4 times when we got big snows.
I also get more sleep during the day and am up late at night.
I like hot and humid weather though. Even though I have a problem with bats, I like to keep the window open and back door window open (with screens of course) and listen to cars drive by. Lazy nights like that, along with severe weather and extreme heat, are summer to me
That stinks. If it's hot I can't sleep at all. Storms and rain actually help me fall asleep despite the noise.

Sometimes they do for me, other times not. One time in 2006 a heavy thunderstorm rolled in around 2AM, waking me up. I couldn't fall back asleep. It was a weeknight too, so I only got 3-4 hours of sleep.
When I know there is a chance for overnight thunderstorms, I leave the window open on my back door (to my deck which is right next to my room  ). I usually do not sleep through thunderstorms, though I do find it relaxing to listen to a gentle thunderstorm with moderate rainfall (that leads to the sound of water draining from eave-troughs (give me a break, I have never had to spell that before)). I love thunderstorms, and the excitement they bring to me

Well, for starters, I notice the video feed is fine here in Lansing. Anyway, I also see that the :28 LF is not the only one during the day that starts with the 8 city 'guesses' page, as the 8:38 AM EDT LF did

Well, it is still going on this morning, as of 6:50 AM EDT. More than 15 hours now. I am going back to Lansing momentarily, and will check in from there.

I feel so sorry for Ana. I had to give up the two cats I had grown up with since before I started kindergarten back at the end of July '06.

I got a bit of a problem. Since 3:00 PM EDT or so, I turn on TWC and I notice it is black. However, the sound is working fine. Could this be a problem with TWC, or just my headend receiving the video feed?

I know a couple of people are dealing with the same exact thing as you, Aaron.
Well, I am back over in Lansing so I can mow the lawn, and feed the animals before I go up north tomorrow. I turned on TWC at 7:17 PM EDT, and everything was fine and working properly. I am curious as to whether this has been fixed or not, whether this happened in Lansing or not, etc.......

fail...we have a severe thunderstorm warning in a effect, and it was not shown on the LF...
Hmm, that's odd

Anyway, the Comcast headend here in the E.L. is having problems receiving the video feed from TWC, but the audio is fine. What is even more bizzarre is that the Intellistar unit is able to generate the forecasts, and I hear the narration along with the music. Again, the one problem, NO VIDEO!
Is this happening to anyone else? I have an uneducated theory that these flavor changes are behind this, as the weather is fine both here and down in Atlanta.

But I keep waking up too early. It's hard to fall back asleep. There has to be SOME kind of solution out there.
You could also just get over it. If your waking up early, you have more time to accomplish daily tasks. I would love to be able to sleep for only 7 hours without the aid of an alarm clock.
Again, I hear you. I have the exact same problem. Now that I think about it, what number1twcfan said is probably a good idea. Just get more done in the time you have, and you will tire yourself out earlier than you would otherwise. Make some video, etc.

Well, here's post 10,800 in the "Local Forecast" thread. Anyway, the 12:28 PM EDT LF opened right to the 8 city 'guesses' segment. I am still trying to get used to that.

Well, I am really curious to know how this is affecting the XL or 4000. I am going up to Mt Pleasant tomorrow, and I certainly hope to find an XL. Were all these flavor changes only meant to affect the Intellistar?
Jeremy told me the XL flavor's are unaffected.
Who's Jeremy?
CriminalCola
Oh wow, I didn't know that. He hasn't been active in ages, and I sure wish he would post another XL video soon.

I need help going to sleep. I go to bed often at 12 and wake up at 6, feelin fully refreshed. I don't like that. How can I make my sleep patterns longer?
I have the exact same problem. The only thing I could suggest is taking something for it. Every few months, I use a product from a local health store called "Melatonin", which works perfectly. You could also take a sleep aid, such as Advil PM or Tylenol PM. Other than that, I can't suggest anything since again, I have the same problem.
