It's amazing how much controversy over this there really is, and yet, TWC (or NBC, whatever works) is doing not a thing about it. No offense to possible fans, but this "Toure" guy looks like a joke to me.
Maybe they used the double-feed feature, so that people in the affected areas would receive live weather updates, while everyone else saw the movie? Still, I think the wise thing to do would have been to cancel the movie for everyone. Actually, I don't know why The Weather Channel is showing movies in the first place! Actually, I do. NBC now considers The Weather Channel to be just another programming outlet in its family, regardless of TWC's stated purpose.
I'm highly doubtful of that. Many areas that were hit that night are rural, and I wouldn't expect too many Intellistars to be in that part of the country. Still, all the complaints about the lack of coverage that night is what makes me doubtful.
