The only school renovations I could ever remember were at my elementary school (way back when ), and they were done completely inside the summer... big renovations though. That was back when I was going to Holt. I haven't seen any happen at Haslett.

The new Vortex2 lower thirds have debuted.... One problem... It's very difficult to read the text...

It's difficult to read most of the text that's anywhere on TWC (and the Intellistar), lol
TWC does not seem to know good text color schemes, of all things.

I'd hate to be an attention grabber, but this is happening on a lot of STARs, especially during the text-LF. It probably happens because of the sponsor bug animations and the movie animations on the right-hand side of the text-LF.

Define a lot? Ive never seen it happen

This is the sort of thing that happens (skip ahead to the text based). It was rampant last summer and then became on and off during the winter.

Notice how in this video it causes the crawl to slow down and lag. Also notice that it causes the video to run over YWT to a few seconds

It's really not anything new, and it's more an issue with some Intellistars than it is for others. With the exception of decommissioning Intellistar units with faulty narration issues (and replacing them), I doubt there is much that the STAR team can do about it.

Jeff, I remember when I first saw you on TWC, and while the whole Road Crew concept was new to me at first, I grew to like it
I do miss you and a lot of other OCMs and on-camera personalities. I just don't watch TWC much outside of the local forecasts

I'm sure that, when he signed on to work on The Weather Channel as a meteorologist, he never expected he'd have to compete for air time with movies!

Oh he's not trying to compete. He's just a true meteorologist, who wants only to do his job and share what he knows with viewers. He's an asset to TWC, and I think even NBC realizes that.

It's amazing how much controversy over this there really is, and yet, TWC (or NBC, whatever works) is doing not a thing about it. No offense to possible fans, but this "Toure" guy looks like a joke to me.

Maybe they used the double-feed feature, so that people in the affected areas would receive live weather updates, while everyone else saw the movie?  Still, I think the wise thing to do would have been to cancel the movie for everyone.  Actually, I don't know why The Weather Channel is showing movies in the first place!  Actually, I do.  NBC now considers The Weather Channel to be just another programming outlet in its family, regardless of TWC's stated purpose.

I'm highly doubtful of that. Many areas that were hit that night are rural, and I wouldn't expect too many Intellistars to be in that part of the country. Still, all the complaints about the lack of coverage that night is what makes me doubtful.
