General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong when I try to publish my videos in widescreen? I change the setting for the preview screen to 16:9 and I click on Windows Media DVD Widescreen or something like that and it produces an even more narrow screen than normal. Mike, I know you have obviously published a lot of your videos as of late in widescreen, can you tell me how to do it? It would be much appreciated! :D
Are you using Windows Movie Maker 2.6?

If so, what you need to do, is render the video as 856x480 pixels.
Yes, I am uing WMM 2.6. The problem seems to be rendering the video the way in which you speak.

Woah new flavor at :08

Regional Doppler>local doppler>Regional satellite>almanac>air quality>Marine>Outdoor activity>Daypart>Tonight's forecast>36hr forecast>7 day outlook
Could HiRAD of been unavailable? That might of been why the local obs didn't show.

Yep, that's what I said above. I checked my recording from last night and saw that for that particular LF only, the observation site said "Lansing" instead of "Downtown Lansing". It was only that LF, and every other LF had HiRAD available on it. I don't have traffic data, which is why mine opened to the Front Page CC screen and Alejandro's opened to the radar segments.

Notice the observation site in this video:

Sorry for the triple post here, but I see "Make It Work" by Jeanne Ricks, one of the two dominant songs from overnight (the other being Celestial Soda Pop) continues the overnite playlist at 5:58 AM EDT.

I also see they have not switched to the daytime list yet, as I am hearing "Allure" by Ryan Farish at 5:28 AM EDT

Well, that could have been due to the fact that you have traffic data and marine products. I don't, and I saw the Front Page CC as well as a few other things. What is odd is that I did see that HiRAD was temporarily out for that specific LF.
My guess is that the odd flavor you saw was due to the fact that HiRAD was out now that I look over my clip.

Nope. Try not to guess the same person twice in a row.

However, I too say Mike?

I have a thing for traffic data! :dunno:

Math Honors, the students won't let me concentrate in that class. It's terrible, it doesn't deserve to be called an "Honors Class"!
Wow, I figured the students would be mature in those types of classes!  I have a similar problem with my classes and it really gets me frustrated.
Yeah, and what is weird is that usually the people who are a distraction and make the class harder are the people who do the best in the class. I had Algebra this year with two brothers (both same age as me) who sat directly in front of me and would always bug me. Matt and Mike (yes Mike) Pokryfki would always turn around and say something stupid or do something to get a reaction out of me. Most of the time I wouldn't give it to them but they keep doing it anyway. I believe they are the reason I ended the semester with a C+ in that class.

The Game Room / The Blame Game
« on: June 26, 2009, 09:01:13 PM »
Here is a fun topic to blame someone else for something inconvenient or less than ideal that occurs to you. Personal things are not necessary. For instance, say something like this:
"I blame Mike for having a messy room"
And ALWAYS be sure to say "Just Kidding!" or J/K! at the end of your message
