Good, it works now. So we got yet another Freeze Warning for tonight. I'm expecting another one tomorrow night... a night for which TWC just lowered the forecast low for Lansing down to 28. I was telling Ana that Lansing has had a plethora of growing season-related bulletins just in the past month:
4/16: Freeze Watch
4/17-18: Same watch upgraded to a Warning
4/18-19: Another Freeze Warning
4/19-20: Frost Advisory
4/21-22: Frost Advisory
4/22-23: Frost Advisory
4/27: Freeze Watch, which was upgraded to a Freeze Warning for that same night
4/28-29: Frost Advisory (both Patrick and I thought this was going to be it for the season)
5/08-09 (Mothers Day): Freeze Warning

Here's a picture of my NWS office's web page:

And here is the national page...

The bird's egg blue is the Freeze Warning, and the turqoise is the Frost Advisory area.

Can you tell me how to get there Martin? I have it set so that I view 25 posts per page, and I can't view any of the posts from the 462nd page.

And Ana, I hear ya with the internet issues. My router, which I bought last August, keeps going out. Several times a day. Good thing I purchased a warranty, even though neither of my parents are willing to drive me out to Howell  :hmm:
Does it happen to be a Linksys WRT54G?
It's a Linksys Wireless-N router. Not sure about any more specs on it. My mom keeps having issues connecting to it on her laptop downstairs. Funny, I can somehow use the internet signal from it with my laptop out on my deck, and we live in a brick house. We also use a wireless printer.

hehe, congrats

I remember how much of a big deal that was to me when I started becoming active here a little over a year ago.

Guys, I shouldn't have made the requests that I did. But now some issues are going on behind the scenes that are too difficult to handle. I would appreciate it though if my issues with requests, the administration, and the STAR team, stay just between me and them. Please no one else get involved, since it really isn't anyone else's issue.

I think what must be remembered here is that, as much as some may want it to be, the Stars aren't our own personal "toys," and, even though we watch them umpteen times a day, it doesn't mean we get to tweak them to show exactly what we want them to show.  There are a whole lot of other people who watch them, too, and the needs of only an occasional TWC viewer are no less important than the needs of a constant viewer.  The Star techs have to keep everyone in mind, and, while pleasing everyone just isn't possible, I think they do a pretty good job of keeping as many people happy as possible.
That's pretty impressive, and all the more correct. That had finally begun to occur to me, which was why I stopped making actual requests. I simply asked for some glitches to be fixed, and more was screwed up. But let's just drop this. It's done, and what I've caused is my own issue.

If any of the controversy over this, and many of the other decisions NBC has made for TWC, had occurred to them, things would have changed by now. We all remember how hectic things were last weekend, when the south experienced such extreme severe weather. TWC should have kept their normal schedule, with the normal LF and commercial schedule, through the whole evening. Even if TWC had used the dual feed feature, it would not have been seen by many viewers. Plus, I'm sure there are family members well away from the affected areas anyways. But NBC and TWC are now heartless corporations, and unfortunately there is nothing we can do but not watch. If I'm that desperate to watch TV, there are plenty of other shows at this time of the evening to watch.

I'm so sick of this "Flick and a Forecast" thing.  NBC seems to think that The Weather Channel is supposed to be an entertainment network first and foremost... just one that happens to have a focus on the weather.  They couldn't be more wrong.
I agree with you. I think that this time, Flick and a Forecast viewership is going to be down significantly, due to what happened last Friday.

Congrats! AP testing has been this past week and this upcoming week here too. Lots of empty classes with students taking these AP exams. With a lot of the hell that has gone on lately, the last thing I could possibly concentrate on is an AP exam :P
Speaking of exams, my mom just finished her semester finals, and did quite well on most everything, except for calculus (not an area of expertise for me either).

The average viewer doesn't really care about the observation at the airport. They'd rather see info for somewhere closer to them.
So then, is it really necessary to have "Lansing" and Dtwn Lansing" both within the 8 city? Not to mention this Intellistar does serve areas near and north of the airport ;)

And what exactly compelled them to simplify the almanac name again, when I had already had it lengthened?

Continued requests make different STAR Team members look at the STAR, and the area served, which inevitability means changes.
Right, and I can understand that, but it becomes a problem when the area's main airport has next to no love or mention on our Intellistar.

Does this seem to be fixed for everyone at this point? I just noticed my ID screen is working properly once again...
Yes, I noticed 22840's and 22842's were both working properly as of yesterday.
