General Discussion / Re: Happy birthday, Aaron!
« on: June 11, 2010, 05:54:00 PM »
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I had a great day. I got to have my first TV appearance, and we had some ice cream cake... in like, the first time that double digits have defined my age :P

Local Forecast / Re: New May 2010 Playlist

If the delay is related to the HD STAR's release, then I suppose I can wait patiently.
That is months, possibly years, away. I am highly doubtful the HD STAR has anything to do with this playlist.

I'm really starting to rethink months of learning about demographics and what is involved in what type of STAR unit I find. I found Michigan's 6th known XL in Sault Ste Marie, MI.

I have several personal reasons for why I always wear a hoodie in public. Just a pet peeve.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Re: IntelliStar LDL Radar Issue

I can also confirm this issue, and with the county lines actually. Not that it's a huge deal, since they're only overdrawn slightly (and the dark national LDL portion just hides it). Just thought I would mention it.

Well sometime I have the same logic. Yes, it is over a 2 month span, but the span covers parts of 3 months.

I believe ours does too. Check out the segment "Lil Twizz" does, I think that involves it.

Well, as promised, here are the end of the year announcements we did. I think you all can tell where I'm at :P
I was nervous like you would not believe, and was shaking while I was reading off my script. We have a lot of bugs and things to iron out for next year, and yes, I will be the "weatherman" in it.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New HD LDL?
« on: June 10, 2010, 11:38:17 AM »
This is like most new technology when it comes out. Modifications will be made as bugs are ironed out. I agree that the LDL that is already on the HD LF should be used "channel-wide", if you know what I mean, but I think the one that is used during programming is fine. Just needs a clock.

How are you able to see that? Even me, having the big 1440 by 900 resolution on both my desktop and laptop, I can't see it.

Everything Else TWC / Re: New Pillarboxes?
« on: June 09, 2010, 07:48:06 PM »
Well this is odd. For some reason, they're not broadcasting Weather Center in 16:9, so they're adding pillarboxes to the screen. Thing is, is the "blurred background" really an idea for a new pillarbox of sorts?

I don't feel I need to either, but this is a first time trial, so bugs will have to be worked out for next year.  :blushing:

Didn't know you posted this Curt. Forgot to see it the past few days. Continuing in the discussion, this evening and tomorrow look phenomenal!  B)

Everything Else TWC / Re: Has TWC lost its way?
« on: June 09, 2010, 05:36:54 PM »
So can someone tell me how shows that are milked dry and aired 3 times in one evening boosts ratings and increases viewership? All it is is money money money. Save money by being too lazy to have an OCM be on TV. You'd think by now that with the constant LF sponsors (many of which are now animated, which pisses me off), ads on the LDL every time it cues, ads in every last place you could possibly think of, and but 2 hours per 14 of actual programming, that they would have eliminated any obvious deficits.
