Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: December 03, 2009, 09:37:02 PM »
Wow, it was a step back in time to see Dao Vu on a TWC program this afternoon. Haven't seen her in ages lol  :bleh:

I just love OCMs who don't know the areas they're talking about lol. Kevin was pointing at Lansing and said Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, then mentioned 496 because it happened to show on the map (496 is only a spur that goes through downtown).

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Who here gets TWC HD?

It's going to be on channel 245 here (once it becomes available), but I doubt we are going to add MORE onto our cable bill lol :bleh:

Everything Else TWC / Re: The Weather Crime Channel...wtf?

How is "wouldn't be surprised" speculating?
That's what I want to know. He was just making a guess, but he never did say TWC will actually do those things.
Lest we forget this post:
Won't be surprise to see Forensic files/ID channel shows/TruTV shows appear in the near future on that channel.
I'm not trying to argue here or start an argument, but I think we need to calm down here. Yes, NBC has clearly had a detrimental effect on TWC, and I agree with next to nothing that they do. But exaggeration is not going to get anyone anywhere.

General Discussion / Re: Your class schedule...
« on: December 03, 2009, 12:09:50 PM »
Here's my junior year schedule, but my junior year seems to be the worst of the 3 so far (in terms of classes, weather, etc), and I am looking into getting this changed (yet again).

1st Hour- Algebra IIA (First half of the book this year, second half senior year)
2nd Hour- Earth Science (Right now learning about volcanoes, tectonic plates; just learned about rocks, and this class will focus on meteorology second semester (after January)
3rd Hour- English 11 (having a lot of trouble with the teacher in this class)
4th Hour- World History (this one is not going too well either)
5th Hour- Academic Lab (hour to do homework)
6th Hour- Yearbook (looking to switch to TV Media Issues 2nd semester)

Wow, 100 Biggest Weather Moments is on now!
Yeah, it's extremely bittersweet for me to see that on again. It has apparently been airing at 3 PM EST every day this week, but I already recorded every episode when it premiered in 2007 :bleh:

12 school days for me! But 2 of them are school activity days,so no classes.Plus I'm gonna be in New York for another 2.So technically 8 days for me
Same here, at least the first part  :club:

Okay, I think we need to slow down with this one. Yes, it is a problem to see this kind of coverage on TWC, I agree. But I really don't think that we need to speculate about the future of TWC with influence from NBC, not half the things speculated will actually happen.

Local Forecast / Re: Trammell Sightings
« on: December 01, 2009, 12:02:09 PM »
More Trammell at 11:58 AM ET. The normal satellite LF has crapped out, it seems.
Intellistar is still fine, so I haven't the slightest idea what it could be this time  :dunno:

Local Forecast / Re: Trammell Sightings

Trammell at 11:28 AM ET.

edit: and at 11:38.
Hmm, this is weird, and it continues at 11:48 AM EST. Trammell hasn't played all the way through the LF for several consecutive LFs like this since June.

General Weather Chat / Re: Winter of 2009-2010 Forecasts
« on: December 01, 2009, 02:33:46 AM »
Hopefully it works out well for you Aaron, November is my favorite month, but it's also been the most boring month in general this year outside of just the weather. Speaking of snow, Jim Cantore seems to be getting excited about the possible winterstorm the SE could see this weekend, I'll monitor it, but I think next week will give us a better chance for snow/ice.
Thanks, same to you :)

Forecasts are looking mixed at this point. Temperatures appear only marginally conducive for significant snow accumulations, and TWC is making me nervous with a low of 34 Wednesday nite and a high of 35 of Thursday. One thing that remains consistent throughout forecasts (TWC, NWS, and otherwise) is that the event will start out as rain and switch over to snow. This is what is causing forecasters to have some difficulty; how soon into the event does the rain transition over to snow, and how much cold air penetrates the system? At this point, despite the temperatures, it does appear as though I will be in the swath of the heavy snow.
