Powdery snow or wet and heavy snow?

Try using Windows Media Center.  Works so much better than WinTV - I'm currently using a Hauppauge card in 7 Media Center with absolutely zero problems.
For whatever reason, I have had issues galore with Windows Media Center. Keeps freezing up on me, and I can't get any recordings through it.

The Game Room / Re: What Are You Watching Right Now?

Earlier...The Penguins of Madagascar's first special.
I was actually watching that too, lol :P

Watching a black/green screen with the HD satellite LF, with how "Clouds of Heaven" by Ryan Farish should sound  :)

Last hour, I tried hooking my TV's (not TV tuner) SD cable box to my TV tuner (which is an HD TV tuner), I got a scrambled video picture... but great sound.

lol, don't kill me, I knew it wouldn't work :P
Thats weird.. you're using an SD box and it can tune to the HD channel? Usually on the boxes it just does audio only and doesn't try to decode the video. The scrambled video I suspect is the box trying to decode it but the processor in the box just can't keep up so it keeps dropping.
Thank you for your insight on that, I didn't think about that. The cable box I used for that (which is for my TV... I have a separate, smaller one that can't tune to TWC HD for my desktop tuner), is a brand new one I got just a month before the cable went digital here in Lansing. That could be part of it, but I'm not sure. I am supposed to get an HD box with the HD starter bundle we apparently have, which I am hoping to pick up tomorrow.

Like I said, we do have the HD starter bundle, which obviously includes TWC HD in the package. We inadvertently got this when my mom talked down the bill and got us a promotional price. This may be partially why I am able to at least hear the channel's audio.

TWC Today News / Re: New Addition To The Administration
« on: February 15, 2010, 06:45:51 PM »
You know, I think I need to admit to misjudging the administration of this site. Now that I think it over, Patrick is a wise choice for an administrator. In addition to having TWC knowledge and experience many of us don't have (I know, it does not pertain much here... but I'm making a point :P ), Patrick seems to have the firm but fair way at going about things. I must say I admire Martin's statement about letting this topic take its course. I do agree that there is quite a bit of administration here, but so long as no one rules with a heavy hand, I don't see what is wrong with the administration we now have.

Yeah, 2008 sure did feature a lot of emotional songs. Definitely a lot of good ones though, that's for sure. Winter is a beautiful song, and I'm glad I at least have a camera XL recording of it.

Thanks for the ID btw
The song definitely fits the ad crawl in that LF

Here's an idea I have already brought up:
Can someone make it so that I can post when pressing the alt and s keys using Google Chrome? It makes posting so much faster (not to mention I'm used to posting with the shortcut).

Here's a great example of your idea, Zach:

Intellistars 22840 and 22842- 10/31/09 LAT48's

Notice how in the E.L. recording, the portion of the song that airs during the sat/rad sounds much more pronounced and feminine than that same portion of the song sounds on 22840? Also note how the low piano notes between the sat/rad and the text based sound more connected on 22842 than that same portion sounds on 22840.

This is a 1 minute clip of "Lovestar" by Buzz Amato from this site, but the first few seconds is a completely different song. Anyone know the name of it, it kinda sounds like Boney James, but I don't think it's him.

I'd say that sounds a lot like Dave Koz...

Anyways, I need an ID to this number, please :)

"Lights Out San Francisco" by Craig Chaquico.
I love that song! It totally makes me emotional though cuz it reminds me of all that happened to me that year :/

Is that the song I posted a video of or the clip that Tavores posted?

Now speaking of HD... I really want to publish my local forecast clips in HD, but every time I do so the screen is shrunk in width. Any way I can combat so it looks like other HD videos?

So, I just hooked the cable box that is attached to my TV up to my desktop's TV tuner (which is an HD TV tuner), and with a scrambled video signal, I was able to pick up great audio. Would I still have to pay $10 a month for an HD receiver when I already pick up the channel?
I'm not sure if you would get that audio if you stop paying the $10.  I'd ask your cable company that question.  A few others here who work with tuners could possibly help you.
The TV tuner is not the issue... my desktop's TV tuner is great, and I got a steal for it. I use it to get all my high quality TWC clips, record DVDs onto my computer, and it also works great with HD signals. I just don't understand why I would have to add $10 onto our monthly bill when I can at least hear the audio already (I may have not mentioned I don't have HD service yet).
