Local Forecast / Re: Song ID Thread
« on: August 21, 2011, 09:32:46 PM »
I had an audio track I could have given, but I recorded it on my phone and when our SIM cards were decommissioned, so were the phones and the memory...
It aired sometime in November/December of 2008/2009 (likely in 2008). It was kind of a dark and depressing song with a very slow pace, with a possible triangle or xylophone continuously dinging. Right at about the point of the 7-day forecast it would slow down to just the triangle/xylophone and then jump to a bit of a faster pace. Any ideas? It has worried me the name of it since then!

**I also shall note this is not Shadow of the Moon by Steve Oliver**

So NOW is a weighted version of Helvetica
and Hanzel is numbers for maps?

Does the weighted version of Helvetica go with the rest of the text, such as in forecasts and such?

Common human error yesterday:
During the break between long-form, Nick incorrectly called a tornado warning a tornado watch. Never knew they were issued to only two counties at once! ROFL

This is the image that was posted here a while back (IIRC). Looks nothing like the image that KevOwensby posted...

What is the font everyone uses, such as for the "NOW" text? It can't be Interstate - if so I got screwed.

Back from my day-trip to the beach yesterday, and must I say, we went everywhere and I still could not sleep, after getting only 4hrs of the night before and walking near 5mi the whole day.

First, I wake at 5am and leave at 6am for the 2hr trip down. We get to a gas station and get some lotto tickets and win $12 (yay!). Afterwards, we go to Laguna Beach (unincorperated community mainly patrolled and governed by Panama City Beach) and get out on the beach for about 2hrs. Beautiful water in one spot, nasty water 5ft away! Odd! The sand was so high up, I could go so far out and it not even be up to my knees when it is usually up to my neck! I had a WONDERFUL time considering the water was about 60-70 degrees and the air temperature was near 100. Terrible had we not been in the water. And then, guess what?

Time to leave the beach. Time to go to Pier Park, I go to the butterfly pavilion and get about 50 pics. Too hot, so I leave. We move on to walk down several strips of Pier Park, then back to the car and to eat. Margaritaville. 30-45 minute wait. Off to Panama Pizzeria! 4hrs and a reunion of a friend we haven't seen in 10yrs. He stayed on the air during (Dennis?) for 36hrs straight (radio-DJ) and had many national stations call him for syndicated updates, since he was the only person still down there during the storm.

We leave afterwards to go to the Pink Pelican Ice Cream Bar and get my usual Cotton Candy ice cream (YUM). Staying for 30min, we move on to the Sunsations to get a baby sea-turtle. The little foreign  :censored: said that we had to pay $20 for a tiny cage or she could give it to us in our hand. We storm out. Our attempt to find turtles fail. Moving on!

To the... ah, hell, I don't remember. I just know I had a wonderful time. Here is a special thank you to my mom for taking me down before school starts.  :plane:

Correct me if this isn't a blooper...

The Squeezebar came in for the LOT8's earlier today after the commercial break and LOT8's bumper. Then they went straight into Tropics Watch. Either something was damn important or they were trying something new and retarded.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Is cable TV going downhill?

I saw quite a few of those shows growing up, but I was more fascinated in the games shows on Nickelodeon as a kid.  How many of you remember Think Fast, Finders Keepers, Double Dare, Get the Picture, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Figure it Out?  Yes, I saw all of these shows growing up. ;)

Yes, I remember repeats of everything except Think Fast when Nick GaS was still on the air. I hated but loved Legends, Figure it Out was great... the modern-day BrainSurge (which, IMO, stinks).

As a side note, the "I2 alpha" that people refer to @ cablevision NY is not a Star at all.  Just a random morsel of inside information to boggle your minds.

I figured that it was not a STAR considering it had nothing, not even the infamous "dot" on the ID screen.

But... if it isn't a STAR... what could it be?
