We've got a kid a grade lower than I am - he's a bit on the... fluffy side. We have "Fun Food Fridays" and order pizza. I pay $5 for THREE SLICES of pizza from Little Caesars when I can get a whole pizza. Guess what? He pays NOTHING and takes the whole pizza for himself and the rest of us only get one slice and he says WE'RE lying.

My first trip to the office was for playing with rocks instead of PE in 1st grade. I got three days out of PE, much to my relief, but I had to come up with 40 things that could happen for throwing rocks. The secretary and I chatted much during my "detention," haha.

Your first office referral, demerits, detentions, suspensions? (I highly doubt anyone here has been expelled but if you have been you really shouldn't share )

Schools can ban cell phones and hold them until the end of the day or until a parent comes to retrieve it, but how is it even REMOTELY LEGAL for a school to hold a cell phone until the parent pays $15 to get it back?!  If I were the parent, I'd say, "I understand your rule about cell phones and I'll make sure my child doesn't bring it to school again, but unless you return my property to me right now I'm going to call the police and file a charge of theft."

My mom has tried that and the school threatened her with legal action. How or why? I don't know. All I do know is that we still were ransomed, for me checking a TORNADO WARNING on my phone. It's bull :censored: in my eyes.

My school has a system of conduct cuts in each class (and the teacher doesnt have to tell you when he and or she assigns them, and they vary by class).. but for the AP/principal level, we have things called office referrals, in which at one point they were hand-written and are now written online.

I copied one of my office referrals, if I can retrieve it, I'll post it.  :rofl2:

At my school...
5 demerits/1wk = detention
10 demerits/1wk = 2 detentions
15 demerits/9wk = Saturday detention (and you pay the teacher $20)
20+ demerits = suspension/expulsion

ALL demerits are wiped at the end of the 9wks.

Paying the teacher $20? WTH?

THANK YOU! I've been saying the same since I started!

Thankfully, I've only had one detention and an "after-school assignment," which did not classify as a true detention because I did not have the demerits for it. I got the detention for telling someone to kiss my  :censored:.

There's no way I'm gonna pay a teacher $20 unless it's being used as a bribe to get me out of Saturday detention.

You get kicked out if you miss the detention or don't pay up... so yeah. School sucks.

IMO TWC needs to either remove the sunrise/sunset panel or make it into a full almanac panel on the L-Bar. There is no need to see sunrise/set times every eight-to-ten minutes.

That was my last school where I would get written up for talking w/o permission but yet the weak could be slammed into doors and kicked like trash by the class bully and he doesn't get jack.

I was working on science during our science lesson and I was threatened with three demerits if I did the work, but again, if I didn't I would get the same amount. If you get five within a week, you get an ASD (after-school detention). Fifteen within the nine weeks is a SD (Saturday detention). Over that is a potential for suspension or expulsion. I've also already been threatened with fifty demerits already.

Demerits need to kill themselves.

Fact aside, this day is gonna be great :)
