PBS is for old people?  Grannies watch "Sesame Street"?  PBS, as you said, is for intelligent programming, though age has nothing to do with it.  Children watch during the daytime, and adults watch in the evening and at night.
Oh yah, I forgot about the kiddie shows. PBS has children's programming during the day and programming for old people at night.

Yeah, "PBS Kids" had a lot of good cartoons shown during the afternoon time; I used to watch them all the time.  As Eric said, even the cartoons were more intelligent than those you see on channels such as Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network today.

OMG you guys, I need to like.. come back here often. :(

But yeah. Hi! I graduated college last week, and moved back to that one town with the duck pond. Also, my moderator partner at the forum I mod at had resigned so I've taken over his section from now on. I'll be in full force over there, but THAT doesn't mean I'll disappear from here. :P

Plans for Christmas? Um... I don't know. I guess the usual like every year. lol

Welcome back, Ana!  Yes, you do need to come back here more often. :club: :P

And speaking of inactive members, has anyone heard from or seen Jesse recently?  I am not trying to stalk him or anything, but I've noticed he hasn't posted here in over two months.  Obviously, we all get caught up in things, but since he was such an active member before and didn't formally announce a departure, I just want to make sure he's alright.  (Another reason I am curious is because he used to be the one who put up the holiday logos, but that job is now done by Martin.)

Can someone help me find an old clip that aired over the past year or so on TWC? It was this really cool 3D animation showing damage from different EF tornados. I believe it was a graphic of a house. Sound familiar to anyone? Apparently it took over 2 days to render the entire piece!

Thanks to Adrian for the description.

Cool clip!  Really good use of the 3D chroma key wall (why isn't Mark Elliot being blown away? :P) and really good animation!

Video on the misconceptions that the general public has about meteorology.

Don't Blame the Meteorologist

^ ^ Good video! ^ ^

Although, I've never heard of Millersville University.

They just show regional forecasts now? What happened to the metro forecast maps, hourly forecasts, and  airport delays they used to show?

Yeah, this has been the case for awhile now, which disappoints me.  There are no more metro forecast maps or hourly forecasts.  What's even more confusing is that the forecast for Dallas is put in the western U.S. section, but then they show a regional forecast for the southeast on the video!

Spam is occurring this morning.  So far I've only seen one post in the "Your Weather Today with Abrams and Bettes" thread by ASHLEY HOLLAND.  We may need to keep a look out, though, if this occurs again later today.  Thank you in advance administration team.

Sorry for double posting...

This is a weather.com forecasting question.  For the Norman forecast tonight, I am noticing a contradiction.  For the "forecast summary" under the Now conditions, I see this:

"Through 4am: A period of steady snow is likely between 1am and 2am. Mostly cloudy with temperatures steady in the mid 30s. Winds NNE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70%. No significant snow accumulations through 4:00am."

But for the text forecast for tonight, I see this:

"Considerable cloudiness. Low 34F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph."

So is it going to snow tonight, or not?  Why doesn't the Tonight Forecast say "chance of snow" and use the snow showers icon, if that's what the forecast summary says? :dunno:

Oh Zach, why is the icon that identifies your site the following emoticon:  (<--This one is to show you the emoticon I am talking about).

 (<--This one is to show my complete confusion as to why that is the emoticon that identifies your site).

Also, my Christmas sig is up  It may look somewhat familiar though :P

If I'm not mistaken, that is very similar to the one you used last year.  Just a lucky guess? :P

So I guess this means you have quit working on the project altogether? :dunno:  I have noticed the website page you had with your progress has been deleted. That's really too bad.  I was looking forward to seeing the final product. :(

Matt, this might be an odd time to be bringing this up, but I am a little confused at how you have identified the music on the Trammell Starks page of your blog.  First of all, the names of the songs listed there are different from the same ones identified on YouTube.  And second of all, there are a couple of duplicates, just under different names (i.e. #5 "All That Jazz" and #37 "Unpredictable"; #6 "Autumn Blue" and #12 "Deep Blue").  If this is intentional, my apologies.  I think I remember reading that all Trammell songs go under two names, but I don't understand the duplicates.

I'm seeing an error message saying the video can't be embedded here.

Click on it.  It'll open a new window, and you can view the video. ;)
