Thank god. I'm starting to get sick of the sun not setting until 9:30/9:40 PM up here.

I'm the opposite.  I love the longer days of daylight, (maybe since I haven't been thrown off by light and time yet, IDK). :P

According to Mike Bettes' Facebook, he is back in Atlanta. He will probaly host YWT from Atlanta. We don't know when Stephanie is going back to Atlanta.

I thought she was now permanently in New York?!?!  Don't tell me this was all temporary.  I mean, I honestly thought she moved up there and would permanently be on WUWA with Al from the NY studios, hence all of the welcome celebrations and stuff they had.  Is this no longer the case?

Hi guys!

Gosh, it has been quite a few months since I've last been active here. I have been busy, mostly finishing up school and whatnot, but now that I have a little more free time, I decided to stop by here and see how everybody's doing. B) I see a few new faces here (or maybe just new usernames I don't recognize), but several of you I remember of course.

I'll try to be more active here through this summer. I never realized how long I have been inactive, but I guess these days time has a way of just passing you by. I've certainly missed you guys! :)

Hi Stephen, it's good to see you again!  Thanks for stopping by.

Zach and Mike: I think you all have overlooked the following bolded part in that post that Martin made about the new Game Room rules.  (It's found in the third paragraph.)

Quote
Posting restrictions here are those that govern the entire forum (see the forum rules thread in the news board). However, you MUST participate elsewhere in the forum to continue to be allowed to post in here. As long as you participate regularly elsewhere on the boards you can post here as much as you wish. However, no one will be allowed to lounge in here and not participate elsewhere. Those who are found to be doing so will not be allowed access to the game room and/or may receive a warning from an admin at any time. The warning is non-negotiable and subject to change in severity depending on the case. Game Room posts should not exceed more than 60% of a persons daily posts if a person has greater than 10 posts per day.

I know this is a lot of math and stuff to think about.  Basically, we're just saying that we do not want people joining the forums or coming here just to make posts in the Game Room.  That is not why these forums were created.  If you would like to have fun every once and awhile, by all means do it, but please do not post something in the Game Room every other minute and then post nothing else.

For those of you who are new and may not understand the rule, we had a problem with this a couple of years ago, so this is how we're trying to resolve it.  Hope that helps you guys. :)

Everything Else TWC / Re: Nicole Mitchell sues The Weather Channel

Nicole on The O'Reilly Factor

Interesting how he described The Weather Channel as "a service. And that "people tune in and out" for the weather. It would seem the new owners want TWC to be the opposite of that

Yeah, I mean, honestly, despite what the new owners want TWC to be, I and I am sure a lot of others will treat it as a service and "tune in and out" because they barely show any weather anymore.

But I really don't agree with his statement that "TWC is not competing for ratings."  Uh, yeah it is? :dunno:

77°F Mostly cloudy

A severe thunderstorm rolled through my area about an hour ago, bringing up to golf ball size hail!  My poor car. :pinch:

EDIT: NWS has a lot to say about the current conditions at DFW Airport: Thunderstorm Heavy; Small Hail/Snow Pellets; Rain.

:P

This is from another cell that formed to the west and is moving southeast at the time.

It's about time NOAA will set this up.

Craig, just as a courtesy, I modified your post to fix the link you provided; it wasn't working for me earlier, but I think I fixed it now.  Thanks for providing this.

I think something is wrong with this SPC map.  It's not that I disagree with a slight risk of severe weather covering a great deal of the country, but the lines and colors are way off.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss, Martin, but as has been mentioned, living to 98 is pretty incredible!  Best wishes to you and your family as you cope with these difficult times. :)

Who would want to get up at 4 in the morning (ET) to watch E/I programming from TWC anyway?
It has to be done per FCC requirements.

I realize that, but why at 4AM?

Probably because they have to show educational programming but don't really want to, so they figure they'll meet their requirements by still showing that kind of programming but at a time no one watches.

Rainfall and Cooler Temperatures Wednesday Night and Thursday:
When the forecast on Wednesday called for an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms to begin in the afternoon and continue through the overnight hours and into Thursday, some may have been a little skeptical, looking up at a mostly sunny sky in the early afternoon.  But around 4 PM local time on Wednesday, thunderstorms rolled through the area, bringing heavy rain at times and non-stop thunder and lightning through the overnight hours.  Thursday saw cloudy skies and unseasonable April-like temperatures.  I've provided a rainfall report and today's almanac to show you what the Metroplex got from these storms and resulting cold front.

I alternate between Chrome and Firefox... sometimes one works better than the other... idk  :whistling2:

And I alternate between Firefox and IE. :P

I'm also old-school and still have IE 8.  I can't stand the new version.
