Well, the first link now says the item has been removed or is not available.  Does that mean someone actually bought the crumbs??? :P. (Or did the seller finally come to his senses?)

What the heck, why are they removing the weather.com branding all of a sudden?

Somehow, to me, it just looks more professional without it.  Also, on the HD feed, it was always getting cut-off (on my TV, anyway).

Is the beginning of Day Planner always a fail? :P  Today the opening title screen froze for several seconds, and then we could see the camera shift when they finally went to Vivian.

The airport delay insert on the LDL has been stuck on Washington Reagan.  Some things never change.

I think why they are still using the red colored L3s is due to Sandy's aftermath.

I think "Sandy aftermath" coverage has been over for awhile, so I can't see why they would still be using red L3rds for that reason.  Didn't things go back to normal before the switch to the new graphics?

But, agreeing with everyone else, if they are indeed using red L3rds for all shows, all the time, that's just absurd.  It no longer gives "uniqueness" to the different shows, and most importantly, what the heck are they going to use for their "heightened alert" modes?

FINALLY, we have a call on Florida. Romney's Senior Adviser is conceding Florida to President Obama, making the final electoral vote 332 for Obama and 206 for Romney.

Why are we ALWAYS waiting on Florida? :club:

:P

The Weather Channel is their channel, not the National Weather Service's channel. If they want to name their storms, let them. Who are we to say they can't?

You're right.  "We" (being the people who are against naming winter storms) have no right to tell TWC what to do.  But, and here's where it can get confusing, TWC needs to realize that other stations and the NWS are probably not going to follow suit.  And when you have a named winter storm by TWC and a generalization, or perhaps another name for the same darn storm by another station or the NWS, the public is going to get horribly confused.

The main point is, the public should be the top priority, but we all know their ratings are the top priority, and so that's why they're doing this in the first place.

612
Well, TWC has already named their second storm.  "Brutus" is the one that will be impacting the Northern Rockies over the next few days.

They're naming this storm but not the one that is prompting blizzard warnings in Montana?  :dunno:

Exactly my point. <_<

There's only one reason why TWC is naming this storm: they only care about the Northeast.

Welcome back, Gary!  So glad you are able to stop by here every once in awhile.

What in the....?!

OK, is something wrong with certain NWS sensors nation-wide?  Attached below is the past report for Norman.  Though not as crazy as what Zach posted, we never had snow or rain in the forecast.

EDIT: Looks like they fixed it after that "NA" reading above.

Just caught the tail-end of an interview with a so-called election expert conducting by Jenn Carfagno on the effects of weather on this election. I could not believe the guy when he said Sandy will favor Obama because he has handled the storm so well. That's contrary to what I've been hearing. Is the TWC becoming a political animal?  Please bring back the good ole days.
I saw that as well. It seems that TWC has a pro-liberal bias.
As does NBC in general.

Yes, indeed.  If you hear TWC favoring the liberal side, it is because NBC is very liberal as well. ;)
