I'm guessing because No. is shorthand for number. Although it might have looked better if it were #. But that's how it is by default. I'm not sure if it can be changed or not.
Well the way the "o" is written, it almost looks like "N to the 0th power."

I'm pretty sure they won't have Weather Center for nine hours straight. Could be wrong though.
