Is the country music instrumental music? I guess this is kind of a dumb question since TWC will probably never use vocal music again.

I disagree; I think it's nice to see Kim on in the evenings.

I know. It's quite a change from being used to see her on in the mornings, especially Weekend Now. She seems to be working very well with Jim, though.

Andy and Tavores, the Northeast NWS offices use the criteria that the heat index must be at least 105°F for a minimum of 3 hours to trigger an Excessive Heat Warning.  The Mid-Atlantic and Southeast NWS offices bump that threshold up to a minimum heat index of 110°F for at least 3 hours.

Just now on WC, a top corner graphic showed up saying that the temp in NYC was "000" degrees! I thought it was going to be hot there today, not cold!

The graphic was quickly taken down right after it was put up.

I know this is random, but I finally got my first heat advisory of the season. It's about time. However, it was extremely difficult to mow the lawn earlier, and I am hopefully about to play tennis in a few minutes here.

Our excessive heat watch was upgraded to a warning this afternoon as well. That, along with a severe t'storm and flash flood watch, prompted a rarely seen two-page Weather Bulletin on my IntelliStar, which I'll upload in a minute here...

The northeast is finally getting the heat. Although, what temperature does it have be up in the NE for an Excessive Heat Watch or Warning to be in effect?  You guys are talking about 90s, but currently in my area it is 95 with a heat index of 100, and we're not under anything. Tomorrow's supposed to be even worse...heat index near 105 according to TWC.

Ugh, the heat index seems to be bad everywhere lately.

I been wondering the samething, In Georgia and I'm sure many other southern states only issue Excessive Heat Warnings when it gets near or above 100 degrees, that's how it was when we had 9 straight days of 100+ heat in August 2007.

That's about what the "criteria" is here. You would think it would be the same for everywhere, but obviously the NE "criteria" for an Excessive Heat Watch or Warning is in the low or mid-90s.

Alright, here's something I would like to ask:

Is it possible that the extremely long message on the site telling IE 5/6 users about the problem with the menus can be removed (or maybe shortened a little). I don't want to offend Jesse or Martin, but having the message up there for so long and even including the date of the last update looks unprofessional and shows people that nothing has really been done to the site even though the message states "we are working around the clock..."

I hope I am not offending either Jesse or Martin by saying this. I am not saying that the site is bad or anything; I just think the message should be removed. Even if it is shorted, that's OK. I've just never in my life seen so many words on an "error" message in a webpage.

It's too bad there is not much activity to talk about during Hurricane Week: Extreme Impact. However, I am really getting sick and tired of all these "weeks" and I guess I have NBC to blame for that.

Also. According to my guide, there's an old special going to air at 8:30 ET; called "In His Own Words: Brian Williams on Hurricane Katrina". NBC's Brian Williams tells his side of the story on Hurricane Katrina. It says it's first aired in 2005 so I'm assuming it's not new.

I saw that somewhere, too...I think it was on my TV Guide. I've never heard of it before; it might be interesting to watch.
