Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Central 2009
« on: August 15, 2009, 09:17:27 PM »
The disturbance in the GOM is now Invest 91L, so it still poses a low threat of developing, maybe it will pull a Hurricane Humberto and rapidly intensify? :dunno: It looks like a circlation is trying to develop if you ask me.

The circulation actually looks like it wants to develop into something to my eyes too. I just don't know if it will move far enough out into the water to strengthen, but I'm not a hurricane expect. I know TWC has mentioned it briefly, but do any other sources show that it will develop into T.S. Claudette? :dunno:

TS Ana is highly likely to develop into a Cat 5 hurricane and do some extensive damage to New York.

Wow, TWC seems to be in Storm Alert already. :P I watched PM Edition this entire hour, and aside from a 2-3 minute Weekly Planner, they pretty much talked about nothing but Ana and Bill, when they are still days away from making landfall.

And that is what really gets on my nerves. :club: What about all the rain in the country that is affecting us NOW, not 5 days away? <_< You are definetely right, Mike...TWC may as well be in Storm Alert. Their position now really is no different from 2006.

TWC should use orange title bars & L3rds for SA.

I had no faith in this thing yesterday becoming anything! :P

I think it kind of came as surprise to a lot of people. Tropical systems usually don't redevelop like that (I don't think).

I can technically say that TWC is in Storm alert mode because they keep showing TS ANA HAS FORMED....on the BBOD and the Bill, Ana intros

It's kind of annoying that even tropical storms more than 5 days away from the U.S. will prompt TWC to focus primarily on the tropics. <_<

Also, I wonder how strong Ana will be when it hits the United States. It looks like it will lose a lot of strength when it runs into Cuba.

Local Forecast / Re: New Product Playlists (flavors) being tested
« on: August 15, 2009, 03:05:35 PM »
Sorry for the bump, but does anyone know or have a list of all the current IntelliStar flavors (you can exclude the ones for WUWA)? :dunno: It seems like when I watch all these IntelliStar videos on YouTube, the screens shown and their order are never the same thing twice.

I mean, what kind of flavor is this???  The screens are all mixed up, and don't seem to flow well IMO. The traffic screens aren't even all together!

Lastest GFS model update shows Ana crossing over Florida, reforming in gulf. TD3 is shown brushing the Carolinas http://bit.ly/3Zgkvv

Wait, so will TD3 (future Bill) go near Florida or further north to the Carolinas? People are saying two things here...guess we'll have to wait a little and see. :dunno:

I thought the GFS model was showing Ana crossing FL. Perhaps i was wrong

I think Ana will cross Florida. I'm wondering about TD3...maybe I'm reading the posts wrong.

It's "An-uh", not "On-uh" Carl.

I think Heather pronounced it "On-uh" too. I like Kyle's theory from the WUWA thread, but I would pronounce both Ana and Anna as "An-uh". :P Can't believe I'm talking so much about pronunciation.

Sorry, as this is a little off topic, but I would pronounce "Ana" as "on-uh".  Everyone I know who spell it like that say it like that.  I've always known "ann-uh" as Anna.  So I guess it just depends on the person/ whoever named the storm ;) :P
