Me too...I thought station IDs were supposed to "show the season."

Just TWC continuing their policy of eliminating the experienced good OCM's and then turning around months later and hiring new ones. Makes you wonder if they made a mistake with all of those layoffs. On another note, the guy looks decent. I hope he is good

Chris Warren is the meteorologist for the weekend evening editions of KING 5 News at 5:00, 6:30, 10:00 and 11:00.  He can also be seen on NorthWest Cable News where he began on air during the summer of 2003.

Prior to his work at KING 5 and NWCN, Warren was forecasting weather at KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo, California, and KTVZ-TV in Bend, Oregon.  He loves to tell a story whether it’s about the day’s weather, a football game or a recent adventure.  In past positions he brought viewers stories from out in the field as a reporter and photographer, and from the newsroom as a news anchor and video editor.

Chris is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association.  He holds the AMS’s Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorology. He completed the three-year Broadcast Meteorology program from Mississippi State University after earning his degree in Broadcasting from Washington State University with a minor in psychology.

or.... they're doing cost cutting and getting rid of the higher tenured OCMs and hiring new ones for cheap.

I think we already decided that this is probably what TWC is doing.

First day of fall, first day of being sick.  YAY! 

There seem to a be heck of a lot of people getting sick lately. There are several people out at my school with some sort of sickness, most of which is the flu and some even with swine flu.

Well, is it possible the sleet icon meant that there was hail? I do know that the hail/sleet icons are exactly the same...maybe there was hail in the area.

No, hail was never indicated at all from the Atlanta observations during this whole time.

Well then TWC is looking forward to winter.

Well, ladies and germs, today is the last day of the Front Porch. Fall begins tomorrow!

Goodbye to the Front Porch! It's nice to post in here one last time before it disappears. This sure has been a great spring and summer, but I'm really looking forward to fall.

* WeatherWitness follows Martin's footsteps by sweeping the porch and covering the chairs.

* WeatherWitness then takes a deep breath, enjoying the last of the summer air, and walks inside.

Now hopefully we will actually get a little taste of fall tomorrow with a slight cold front keeping temps in the mid-70s. Rain is expected, though...don't think I like that.

And speaking of rain, please stay safe Tavores and any other member here who lives around the Atlanta, GA area. I didn't realize that the flooding was this bad.

I think you're right about TWC already looking forward to winter.  It always seems that autumn is the most overlooked season of the year when it comes to weather coverage.
