Hi guys! Just wanted to check back in with you guys. I haven't posted here in MONTHS; my life has been extremely busy for a while. Mostly school, but that's been over for a few weeks, and I've had some time to relax and I've got some more time on my hands now, which is good. I will try to be more active here throughout this summer.

Just wanted to stop by - in case you were worried that I died or something.

The Tor:con index is basically a glorified version of the tornado forecasting that the SPC comes out with each day. Just another marketing technique NBC has up their sleeves.

Let me make this very simple: everything is not NBC's fault. And go figure - you're completely wrong about the Tor:Con Index - Dr. Forbes came up with it himself. He's said it numerous times on air and online on the weather.com live chats.

I'm glad you said this Tyler...I remember watching a segment on weather.com saying that HE came up with it. And Dr. Forbes is certainly not one to lie about something like that.

I didn't realize it debuted last year, though, either. They must not have used it a lot or something, especially since it seems to be explained a lot this year.

Well this is odd... Notify! ad on the Intellistar LDL, yet a WUWA ad on the HD feed.

Yeah, the ads hardly ever match, and that really doesn't bother me.

I have a question about the LDL in general, though: is it "cued" by the STAR or some "control" at TWC? Because on some weather.com segments, you can see the LDL...I don't remember ever seeing the blue one on weather.com segments.

I agree with Aaron. We've heard the "If you don't like it, don't watch it" spiel numerous times, and it hasn't stopped people from watching. Really, it's just added to the argument, and I'm kind of getting tired of it. Those complaining should have a right to complain.

Whereas this upsets me, it doesn't surprise me. I guess the oil spill can sort of (but very minusculey) relate to weather/the environment. But I still don't think this needs to be shown on TWC.

I can't wait for our first storm (even if this isn't it)! When is the average time that the first "system" (TS or hurricane) usually forms?
