Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Danielle
« on: August 30, 2010, 06:23:58 PM »Danielle is barely a hurricane with winds of 75 mph, and it's losing tropical characteristics right now. Expect the last advisory to be issued for it later tonight.
Patrick, what does it mean when a tropical cyclone is considered "extratropical" or "post-tropical"?
Because on one of its projected paths a few days ago, NOAA projected Danielle to become an extratropical hurricane. How is this possible?
) by Saturday afternoon. Shear? What's keeping this storm from intensifying any further?
This storm has gone beserk though, as far as intensity. Already a major hurricane, TWC (or I guess I should say the NHC) has this storm with winds as high as 145 mph by Wednesday afternoon.
Now I don't see why viewers would prefer the LDA over the LDL, unless they really like the fact that the LDA provides slightly more information, like a radar.
Its outer bands and wind effects will be felt by a lot of New England states, though. This storm is expected to become a major cat 3 hurricane, with winds of 130 mph by Tuesday afternoon. Probably hard to believe since it once was a tropical storm struggling to stay alive.
