Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Are the ads supposed to be overlapping the radar shots like this and is it happening on SD as well?  this is happening when programs go to break
This is also happening on SD, Zach. I just checked a few minutes ago.

I've noticed that, for some reason, before the LDL disappears the ads replay. Therefore, I'm sure the radar is really covering up the ads that are always there and right before a break, the ads take priority and cover up the radar. I don't really see this as a big deal.

Also, the corner ad bug is currently being replaced by a radar inset rotating through major US cities.

...as it should do all the time! They need to keep this feature.

Goodbye Hurricane Earl. :salute: As of the 11 PM EDT advisory, Earl has been downgraded to a tropical storm with max sustained winds of 70 mph. This storm is weakening rather quickly.

Those who are into filming elevators, do NOT think about recording them at a shopping mall.... as I got out of the mall today a security guard stopped and asked me to remove all the videos I took of their elevators (since the malls are obscured with security cameras). <_<

That's odd. I don't understand why you had to delete the vidoes? And I guess the guard saw you taking them?

This storm is funny...it shows signs of developing into a hurricane, dies, and now it's likely to come back to life again. I guess this is still something to keep an eye on.

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

Looks like they are playing the Flick and a Forecast LF music tonight, despite long-form being preempted.

Um, I thought FaaF was cancelled? And what kind of special music do they used for that, anyway?

can this thread be locked? i'm gettin a little tired of pointless post that can't be proven to be true or otherwise.

It'll probably be deleted soon like the other SA topic was. Seems a little harsh to DELETE topics like these rather than just lock them...it's kind of confusing too. One minute the topic is there, the next it's gone.

storm alert was officially over sept 13 2008 at 6 pm (forever) that was the last time we will ever see storm alert on twc  :(

If you honestly believe that this is true, would you please provide a link or something where you obtained this information? ;) What made you come to this conclusion? Just because TWC didn't do SA for Earl?

not by me, but it was done on purpose. I cannot say any more than that, I'm afraid.

So we're not allowed to post new topics anymore? Seems a little harsh, but I think I *might* know the reason why.

I think Earl is weaking and has a slightly eastward track, so effects for some of you may now be at a minimum or not at all. Still, though, I guess we have a powerful storm brining powerful conditions to NC.

Are we aware of this idiot? :club:

Edit: I found the forum where this is talked about, but it doesn't appear as though anyone has seen him lash out our community (These Forums) in this blog update.

This is a bunch of :censored:. Luckily it's just a blog. I'm glad people's comments on the blog page opposed his opinions, though. Hurray for them!

Everything Else TWC / Re: Weather.com : Hurricane Mode
« on: September 02, 2010, 07:19:43 PM »
The "Hurricane Mode" is clearly the large banner of box at the top of the weather.com homepage. This is a cool feature; it would be neat if the "blue" theme was red, too. I miss the picture banners from the old weather.com that mentioned the name of the hurricane and had an image of a blowing palm tree. :(
