I forgot to have a celebration at 10:10 on 10/10/10!

But really I'm just waiting for 11:11 on 11/11/11!

Isn't this unusual to have a storm moving this far east in the Atlantic?
I think that's how the video wall should have been used for to begin with, like CNN does. It's incredibly blurry for weather graphics and radar graphics and such. I think, assuming this is a permanent decision, that they finally realized this after two years. The only thing they're using the video wall for now is the news and show title graphics.
I bet whoever wrote the check for that big video wall is probably kicking himself at least a little now... assuming he's still with the company.
When I saw WC tonight, I could not believe how clear the weather graphics looked on the chroma key as compared to the video wall. If this is a permanent change, I certainly don't have a problem with it. Aren't some graphics still "unsafe" to fit on the chroma key, though?
Now that's very cool.
How do you all think they are doing (OCM choices aside)?
Wow, that's really funny.I forgot until now but Christina your sig image is funnyActually, that was a big fail on my part; I meant to make the image play on my signature, and I didn't realize it didn't work until you said that.
i almost saved it to my hard drive a month ago too
I'm sure the arrow spells something or makes a picture, but I'm too lazy to figure out what.
(i.e. www.weather.com/home or preview.weather.com)
Ms.Wizard with Stephanie Abrams? They finally premiered that segment?
No offense to Stephanie or any of her fans, but what is the point of this? Is TWC just trying to air her more and more???
This subtropical depression has now been named "Otto" as of 5 PM EDT. However, the storm is still considered SUBtropical. Will it ever be a "real" tropical system or subtropical the entire time?It will stay subtropical as some of the classifications of tropical are missing. Its kinda a hybrid of extra-tropical and tropical
I also don't think I've seen a storm in the Atlantic that has traveled directly northeast before without starting and making a curve first.
I do know what subtropical/extratropical means after Patrick's wonderful explanation in another hurricane thread. I wonder what "requirements/characteristics" of being fully tropical Otto is missing?

You must be talking about during the week b/c whenever I look at the schedule on the weekends, it's nothing but long-form programming. Half of the programs, I might add, I've never even heard of.Pretty sure they've doubled the amount of weather programming from 2PM on the weekends with this recent schedule change.
As far as I still see, long-form still dominates after 2 PM on the weekends. Weather coverage is good in the morning, but except for random one-hour segments, it is very sparse in the afternoon-evenings. That should be fixed.
Maybe this is why the large LDL had not been showing for awhile on SD.
What I would hope for though is complete discontinuation of the LDA.
Hope it has been a great day!
