Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Does Carl Parker not have a normal timeslot anymore? I haven't seen him on Day Planner in quite a while. I thought he may have been on vacation, but I just saw him in a (what looked to be a recent, albeit prerecorded) "Earth Watch" segment.

Carl's too good not to have a normal timeslot, IMO. He knows what he's talking about and delivers the forecasts well. I hope TWC doesn't decide to "phase him out." :(

Please someone in NYC get a recording of the IS2 during the blizzard Sunday-Monday. Pleassseeeee.

hey, I hope I'm not too late. I've uploaded some videos so far, take a look: http://www.youtube.com/user/LightningFever86?feature=mhum

THANK YOU very much for posting!!! Very interesting...I've never seen any IS predict a "blizzard" before and use the blowing snow icon (mainly because I don't live in such an area :P).

Google's holiday doodle is quite lame this year

Yeah. I don't like it at all. I've liked the past few years where the logo "grows" and gets more complex as we get closer to Christmas.

Thanks to Billy for posting and Zach for finding these! These seem to be the highest quality icons provided on the xoap.weather.com site. One shocking thing, however, is that the thunderstorm icon (with lightning AND rain) is missing. Normally that icon appears as numbers 1 -4.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: Child Board Suggestion....
« on: December 22, 2010, 11:34:54 PM »
Here's my opinion...

A child-board DOES keep things more organized and grouped together (which I am all for).

However, like Martin said, and for this particular idea, a child-board for birthday threads will reduce the "meaning" of the birthday thread. When they are in the "General Discussion," I see them because I am probably looking for another topic. But if they are placed in a child-board, I don't know if I would look every day just to see if its someone's birthday. Having these threads grouped in the "General Discussion" makes for more meaning and surprise. I hope this makes sense...

Happy first day of summer! (ermm, I mean winter :wall:) But you wouldn't know that by today's high in Dallas...a very warm 85 degrees!!!

Changing from Colorado's snow to this is, well, interesting...

I'm sorry.. did you just say 85 degrees?  :club:

Yes I did, Ana. :bleh:

* WeatherWitness runs from Meganium90
Please don't hurt me...today was much colder. One thing you have to deal with in Dallas during the winter are the 30+ degree temperature swings.

BTW, GREAT lunar eclipse picture Martin. I had the ability to see it but didn't feel like staying up that late...I saw the very beginning.

Mother nature must be a little sick or confused, as temperatures here for the past two days have been unseasonably warm. In fact, they're so unseasonable that a record high was set yesterday and today. Here are the graphics:

Tomorrow's high for Dallas...74 degrees!!!  Something to enjoy before the colder air in Colorado on Friday (which actually won't be as bad as I thought).

And BTW, I'm going to run now before some of you shoot me down. :run:

Is this a version of the HD Star for weather.com?
That has been around since before the March revamp. It's nothing new.

Yeah. ;) The graphics are really nice looking, but it doesn't compare with an HD STAR.

How 'bout some sun? :P (It's rather chilly here, though and I'll be going to Colorado next week where it'll be even colder. :brr:)
