First Wintry Precipitation for 2011 Yesterday
A winter storm moved through north Texas on Sunday, January 9, 2011 leaving the region with its first snowfall of the year. Snowfall totals were VERY sporadic. Despite the two hours of constant snowfall, totals only reached .2 inches at DFW Airport. However, totals neared 3 inches in the far northern towns in the Metroplex.
This system was more of a rain-maker than anything. A record-setting amount of rain fell yesterday morning before it turned to snow in the afternoon:

Is this as of now, though...why are there THAT many vehicles this late at night?

Here, public schools would try to find the least possible amount of days to close schools. Private schools couldn't care less, and some don't even have to make the days up.
