The new L3rds look terrible. I'm not too impressed...maybe if I see them on my own TV they will look better.

Anyways, about time they have new L3rds. I think these new ones look pretty, especially when they're centered. That's a huge plus.

They haven't had the old ones for that long, have they? I feel like TWC is changing graphics way too often now.

And it would be nice if TWC would roll everything out at the same time, not a new radar and title bars, then the L3rds, then something else.

this says V2?

May — June 2011

Join The Weather Channel as we embed meteorologist Mike Bettes with the scientists of the VORTEX2 Project...

The VORTEX Project is a scientific experiment that started in 1994 to study the development of tornadoes in order to create better forecasting and warning systems. The first project was the inspiration for the movie TWISTER! VORTEX2 is a new phase of this exciting study! Over 100 scientists from around the globe will join forces to intercept storms across the Midwest. And for the first time, The Weather Channel will be there to give viewers a real-time account of the experience...and these scientists incredible finding

Something tells me that is wrong, but I can't be so sure. Maybe "The Great Tornado Hunt" is part of V2 even though it was supposedly only a two-year project.

Happy (belated) birthday Michael!

Well howcome they're not doing Vortex2 again?

Apparently it was only a two-year project (2009 and 2010). Don't know why they couldn't continue it though.

Congratulations to Carl!!! He is so knowledgeable about everything weather-related; he derves this, and hopefully it is considered a promotion.

The new 5 day on TWC. I only got a glimpse of it and made this off of memory.

Interesting...what do they use this graphic for? :dunno:
Remember the 5 Day forecast they showed before the new graphics system? Well this is the one to replace it apparently. They used it last night on WC.

You mean the five-day forecast for a specific city with the city skyline background? Aw man, I liked the old graphics better :( (but your rendition is still very good, Donovan ).

This is a general warning to some of the younger and newer members here:  Please read the rules on posting appropriate topics and posts.  I've had to delete quite a few posts recently from a few of you due to complaints.  If these issues continue, I will start issuing warnings without hesitation for spamming, posting useless topics, or posting large and inappropriate images.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Patrick, just to make you aware (you probably already know), the "Board Guidelines" tab is no longer at the top of the page, so our newer members don't know what the rules are. I know the rules about posting appropriate topics and posts should really be self-explanatory and may not have been specifically stated in the guidelines anyway, but you can't punish someone if they don't know what the rules are. ;)
