Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: May 23, 2011, 04:33:43 PM »
Something tells me that TWC doesn't care about its graphics anymore like it used to. Why? I really can't answer that since I think graphics are very important to the viewer. But, like what was said above, the mixing of old and new graphics and rolling things out at different times seems to support this idea. So Jake, I would unfortunately have to disagree with your statement that TWC is going to roll out a unifed graphics package soon. :(

Is the Joplin tornado the first significant tornado for the month of May? :dunno: I remember seeing an article on weather.com that this month has been quieter than usual in terms of the number of tornadoes...so I can't remember if there have been any others for this month or not (I know the Alabama tornadoes happened in April).

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Peter Lik Joins The Weather Channel

So why does Peter Lik's show warrant showing a transparent TWC logo with no LDL? I guess an LDL would distract from the pictures, but I still want my weather information. :hammer:

The world was supposed to end fifteen minutes ago in my time zone with a huge earthquake, and I haven't felt or seen a thing.  So, as one of your resident meteorologists here, I officially declare this prediction as:

LOL Patrick, good post. I wonder how mythbusters can test this. :P

Anyways, May 21, 2011 is over in a great portion of the world right now, so I think we're going to be all right.

Yes, it should like what's above. Trust me, it has NOT always been this way. Maybe some of you need to take the standard advice of clearing your cache/cookies. ;)

Wow, after what seems like ages, TWC has finally updated the look of its 10-day forecast on weather.com!! :thrilled: The information is now in columns instead of rows, and it looks a lot like the 5-day forecast.

Everything Else TWC / Re: New Weather Channel Slogan

Yeah, I'm guessing it was just a joke because Martin has the video as "unlisted" on YouTube.

Who knows, maybe they'll use it on-air and just change the ending a little bit. It was very believable.

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Central 2011

Note that Don, Katia, Rina, Sean, and Whitney are all new names for this season as replacements for the hurricanes of the devastating 2005 hurricane season.

OK wow, a couple of these names are way too similar to the devastating storm names they are replacing.

Katia / Katrina

Rina / Rita

With hurricane season fast approaching, I was wondering if you all just want to deal with the Atlantic basin storms on the forum, or do you still want the Eastern Pacific included as well?  I'm just asking here for a general opinion before the threads are made.

Definetely include both Atlantic and Pacific. Although most Pacific storms usually do not pose a threat to the U.S., I think they still should be included on the forum.

Does anyone have the intro to WCL?

I haven't seen it yet...if someone could post it that would be fantastic.

Also, thanks to Zach's wonderful HD images, it's easy to say the new L3rds definetely look like something that would be used on NBC.
