Notice the camera and the NBC logo :furious:
What about it?

It just makes me mad that NBC just barges in and takes over...
I mean dont you find it logical for the cameras to have an NBC logo on it because of whom owns the network?

Trevor, NBC owns TWC; it makes perfect sense for them to put their logo on the camera. ;) I don't think I would even classify this as "taking over," especially since TWC's logo is on there too.

I was in AC a halfanhour ago, the display was epic, because we have the casinos and ocean providing a picturesque background along with the fireworks illuminating

That does sound nice. :) The ones in Addison, TX (a suburb north of Dallas) are ranked #3 in the nation. I've never been and don't think they are over water, so I wonder what makes them so special. :dunno:

For those of you who may know...what is it about the NYC and Atlantic City fireworks shows that make them ranked #1 and #2 in the nation? :dunno:

More graphics changes? They just changed them like two months ago!

Also what's going on with the old studio, are they vacating it?
No its a new set

Honestly, why do they need a new set in the old studio when they built this brand new HD studio only a few years ago. Sometimes I feel they are in the old studio more than in the HD studio now...

Looks like some activity being done behind the grey screens

Aren't the grey screens where all the WUWA stuff used to be (and the city backdrop before that)? Wonder what they could possibly be doing this time.

The last Disney show I watched was That's So Raven, which they don't even show anymore, except on Saturday mornings on ABC.

That's So Raven was a good show. That was about the only thing I used to watch on Disney Channel. Too bad they had to get rid of it. :(

I don't even know what they show on Disney Channel now (and really don't care)...

I thought you weren't supposed to open up a thread to say that you are leaving.
Where do you see that in the rules?

Technically there are no rules here...the Board Guidelines have disappeared. :P

A SWELTERING JUNE
Statistics from the month
  • June 2011 was the third hottest June on record for Dallas/Fort Worth.
  • The average temperature (both highs and lows) for June is 86.7 degrees. The average temperature for June 2011 was 87.0 degrees.
  • There were only two days in the month in which the high temperature was below 95 degrees.
  • As seen in the graphics both above and below, the highest temperature for June 2011 (and also for the year so far) was 104 degrees, which tied a record for that day set 93 years ago, in 1918.
  • There were seven triple-digit days for June. These days also happened to be consecutive, from June 13 to June 19.
  • There was only one day of measurable rainfall, which actually set a record rainfall amount for that day (2.84 inches on June 21).

Looks like they're finally updating those titlebars on the maps on weather.com

I wonder if TWC will EVER update ALL the titlebars on weather.com. I know it's not that important to most people, but these new titlebars look excellent, especially if TWC wants to add some taste to their maps and graphics. Unfortunately, most maps are still using the really old titlebars, except for the Current Temperatures map, which uses the recently "retired" titlebar. Ah, such inconsistency. :hmm:

Yeah, AT&T is not that good. At least mine is a little faster than yours, Trevor.

The grade is an A too. I can't believe these speeds are faster than 93% of the US compared to what I've seen here. I guess you guys are the 7%. :P

Overall, the Weekly Planner has really, really gone downhill. Not only have the graphics declined considerably, the presentation has gone "down the drain" as well. I liked it when two OCMs would present the planner: one would do the weather and one would do temps and all seven days would be presented. But now, the Weekly Planner is only presented by one OCM, it is seldom finished with all 7 days (how is that even a "Weekly Planner"?), and what is really annoying is that it is rushed through. At first they start out by having separate maps for the weather conditions and high temperatures, but then towards the end they combine the temperatures and conditions on one map. And it looks TERRIBLE. <_<

New graphic packages I can understand, but new sets? I don't really see much wrong with the current studio....  :hmm:
NBC is trying to put their touches everywhere they possibly can. <_<

Do you think NBC is going to put their logo in TWC studios anywhere? This might be thinking a little over the edge, but it would definitely be "putting their touch" somewhere, as Mike stated.
