So the other night (I think it was on Storm Riders), at :08 past the hour I believe, the little "show-name inset" on the left of the LDL said Local on the 8s with just the LDL showing (no squeezeback). Is the use of just the LDL for the LOT8s on long-form something new now? :dunno:

I almost think it is random. And, for example, today's "walking" segment (or one of today's) didn't have anything to do with weather...it was about how many people could fudge the spelling of Connecticut. I think I remember a segment awhile ago about our national anthem. So are these all the same thing, even though some don't have to do with weather? :dunno:

I hate to say that it's funny about how many unintelligent people we have in this country, but some of the answers they give to what we think are easy questions are rather amusing. This Weather Walking/Walking Weather segment reminds me of the Jay Leno show or something.

I have a feeling they have the text based and 7 day in the end intentionally to get more viewership. They likely rely on these two products over everything else, so they place other products in before them. Just like in news where the weather and sports segments are towards the end of a newscast... to get more viewers to stay tuned to their channel.

I'm pretty sure you're right, Mike. This is the information I would want most, so I would just turn the TV off or change the channel if the 36-hour came on early in the LOT8s flavor lineup. It's funny all the combinations/orders the ISTAR information could have, and I personally am just to used to what it has (mostly) been for the past several years. I couldn't see the flavor lineups changing drastically.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Rumors about Steph & Mike
« on: August 06, 2011, 11:32:13 PM »
Have a lot of OCMs deleted their Twitter pages? I remember Twitter being the big thing on TWC, but I don't seem to notice them making a big deal about it anymore.

On the A&B note, it's a good thing they're not splitting, but honestly, have then been together often in the past year? I do not watch YWT, but from discussion here it always seems like Steph is on duty somewhere (or when she's not, then Mike is) and someone else is filling-in for one of them.

Thanks all above!
Now for this graphic... Is there any practical use for this?  :rofl2:

Aw, gross. :P

But unfortunately, I think Texas and Oklahoma need something like a 10+.

The severe weather message got triggered on this STAR

Milwaukee Intellistar - 08/05/11 Severe Weather Message?

If I had to be *extremely* picky, I would say that the red box is not centered on Sunday's column. :club:

But anyway, :P. These messages now on the Weekly Planner are reminding me of what they do on weather.com with the red boxes that say "severe" on them, either on the current conditions or on the 24-Hour Forecast.

It looks like she won't be much, though. Projected paths have wind speeds at 40 mph MAX and moving away from the U.S. I don't know how much rain Florida is going to receiving from this...

Hi everyone, I've returned from my vacation in southwest Michigan. It was definitely a nice getaway and escape from the heat. Unfortunately, no XL sightings...my grandparents have DirecTV satellite, so that doesn't really help. Anyway, it's good to be back! :)

Well, time for another vacation. I'll be gone for a couple of weeks while I visit my grandparents lake house in southwest Michigan. This should (hopefully) be a good place to escape the 100+ heat. See you all when I return.

Why I'm a Meteorologist
Has this been on TWC?

No, and probably never will be being that they spelled Egger wrong....

Guess they don't like her anymore. :(

But really, although "Eggers" is a simple mistake, it is still noticeable.

As mentioned in the post above, this new green screen stretches out to the floor to provide "so-called" 3D effects (although I think a lot of us agree they could be a whole lot better).

But what is the old green screen area? I'm pretty sure the temporary green screen that was used before this one was installed doesn't exist anymore. Really, it can't...there's no room for it!
