Below Average Temps?
Rain?
Well, from the dry heat streak we have been having for the entire summer, it seems highly unlikely, but a line of storms did indeed keep the Metroplex temps well below average and well below what temperatures have been like for the past couple of months. Our high of 89°F today actually occurred around 3am; temperatures were in the low- to mid-80s throughout the day.
TODAY'S ACTUAL TEMPS
HIGH: 89°F DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL: -8
LOW: 75°F DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL: -1
TODAY'S RAINFALL TOTAL
0.86 in.
Will this be lasting for long? Unfortunately not. Temperatures are expected to climb past the century mark starting again next week, even as early as tomorrow. And to be on the pessimistic side, this was really not much of a cool down when combined with the high humidity levels. And we sure could use a heck of a lot more rain. But, any amount will do. The "good news" is that had Thursday's storms not smashed our chance of setting a new consecutive 100+ degree days record, we still would not have broken it...only tied it on Friday.
