Below Average Temps?   Rain? :faint:
Well, from the dry heat streak we have been having for the entire summer, it seems highly unlikely, but a line of storms did indeed keep the Metroplex temps well below average and well below what temperatures have been like for the past couple of months. Our high of 89°F today actually occurred around 3am; temperatures were in the low- to mid-80s throughout the day.

TODAY'S ACTUAL TEMPS
HIGH: 89°F     DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL: -8
LOW: 75°F      DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL: -1

TODAY'S RAINFALL TOTAL
0.86 in.

Will this be lasting for long? Unfortunately not. Temperatures are expected to climb past the century mark starting again next week, even as early as tomorrow. And to be on the pessimistic side, this was really not much of a cool down when combined with the high humidity levels. And we sure could use a heck of a lot more rain. But, any amount will do. The "good news" is that had Thursday's storms not smashed our chance of setting a new consecutive 100+ degree days record, we still would not have broken it...only tied it on Friday.

First time I have seen smoke on the CC of an IS2

http://youtu.be/cML5BzTHARI?hd=1

Interesting. Did you get a video of or screenshot of it on the IS1, too?

There is a tornado and volcanic ash CC too. Cool huh?

Whoa. Although I want to say I would like to see those (because that would be cool), I don't know if I would really want to because I could be in some real danger.

As has been mentioned before, the mock-ups were made before the real product came out...I'm guessing the picture seen on weather.com is a mock-up or maybe a prototype that was updated and never released to the public. I have no idea why the mock-ups that were shown on that LOT8s video on TWC Media Kit look nothing like the IS2. They barely even look like the Alpha STAR that was released in NY and surrounding areas a couple of years ago.

Honestly, why not just turn the "quick reply" off if it's bothering you all and it cannot be easily fixed?  Billy meant that the regular reply page was working when he made that post after I spoke with him about it, but he did see the "quick reply" wasn't working and immediately turned it off.

Not all problems are occurring with "quick reply" Patrick. ;) For me, it's the normal reply box that's screwed up, and I'm too used to using that for my replies. I guess I'll just have to operate from a different browser.

Why do names need to be rationed?!

Patrick can do a better job of explaining this than I can, and I am probably taking this a little overboard, but I do recall him getting a little upset once that such weak storms, barely a storm at all, even received a name.

EDIT: Here's proof. This storm will probably go the way of Cindy, if even that.

If this gets named, then Franklin will definitely be a wasted name.

The error seems to have corrected itself sometime today in Chrome. I never got around to clearing my cache so I'm not sure how it got fixed.

EDIT: The quick reply box is still messed up though.

It was always this way. ;)

Chrome
- In new (default) TWCT theme, ONLY the quick-reply box extends too far to the right.
- In old curve theme, EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE.

It's always a race to see who can post the top story first. :P Merging is always an option too.

I think this is an excellent idea, especially for weather.com. It's interesting to see what both "average" people (non-meteorologists) and even some professionals have to say about the weather in the area.

So maybe this is a browser/cache issue, because here is a run-down of what I am observing:

Firefox 5
- In new (default) TWCT theme, BOTH quick-reply box AND regular reply box extend too far to the right.
- In old curve theme, ONLY the regular reply box extends too far to the right.

IE9
- In new (default) TWCT theme, ONLY the quick-reply box extends too far to the right.
- In old curve theme, EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE.

Chrome
- In new (default) TWCT theme, ONLY the quick-reply box extends too far to the right.
- In old curve theme, EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE.

Gosh, this is SO confusing. :faint:

On my Firefox 5.0...

The Quick Reply works fine, but the regular reply type-box is still extended too far to the right.

So, is the transparent TWC logo and LDL-only LOT8s effective on ALL long-form shows now? I remember that in the past, this was only being tested on selected shows, such as Peter Lik.

I am noticing an error where the quick reply box extends far to the right. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes Martin, I am experiencing this issue with Firefox.

Looks like TWC got a little confused at who's who and what's what... :P

At the top of the hour, Vivian Brown's name was under a live shot of NYC, Nick Walker's name was under Vivian who was standing in front of a map, and New York City was under a US radar map.
