Apparently as of the 20th of April, Google removed support for v2 of the YouTube API and switched over to v3. That means any YouTube video embedded just goes to a "device support" message and the original link to the video is lost. Is there any way to update to v3 of the API on this site so that we can still embed YouTube videos?

Welp, looks like Blue Ridge here already replaced our IntelliStar with a letterboxed version of the IntelliStar 2 here within hours of TWCJim's first post O.o. I just talked to one of the technicians finally, and he told me that "that was their only option". (He has no idea about anything in that letter but I bet they got it already) And apparently they've been getting complaints that people are only getting one location for the weather now as compared to one location on SD and another on HD in places. Glad I managed to get the few videos of it I did before it disappeared.

RIP IntelliStar: ??/??/???? to 5/29/2015

Its sad to see the original IntelliStar go. It's had a good 12 or so year run. I wonder if WeatherScan is going to be updated, or just plain discontinued now since it says "Please note that your new IntelliStar equipment must be installed by October 1, 2015 to ensure seamless activation with no disruption to service. All IntelliStar 1 SD units will discontinue service no later than November 16, 2015."

And it seems as soon as I posted this here, it was sold. And it looks like it's been less than a half hour since it was posted to eBay  I've still gotta wonder why it showed up on eBay in the first place.

Local Forecast / IntelliStar 2 Junior Spotted on eBay
« on: April 14, 2015, 12:49:38 AM »
So, people are either going to be really happy I made this thread, or mad for some reason or another. My eBay keyword tracking just picked up that there was a listing for a IntelliStar 2 Junior just posted that seems to be coming from Bethlehem, Georgia. I'm curious to see if this is the real thing and how much it's gonna go for. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IntelliStar-2-Jr-The-Weather-Channel-/231531225842?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35e85622f2#shpCntId

So, I know this is an old topic, but I've got a sort of update to my last post. I just tried installing the emulator on a new computer with completely different (and way better) specs than the other machine and I'm still getting the same error as I posted before. I downloaded a new copy of the installer as well. Is it possible I'm downloading a bad version of the installer?

The IntelliStar II in Slatington, PA (the provider is Blue Ridge Communications) has been having some problems for the past few weeks with dropping the feed and  low audio issues. Firstly, the feed keeps getting dropped every few minutes just showing a green screen for about 5-15 seconds at a time, and then the audio takes about 5-10 seconds to come back again too. Also, the Star's audio output is very low, on both programing and the Vocal Local on the Local on the 8s. Comparing the TWC HD feed to the SD feed of TWC and any other channel, you have to raise the volume up to hear the HD properly. Switching between the SD and HD feeds shows the volume difference. If anyone from the Star team has time to look at this, it would be appreciated. Thanks and have a good day.

Traffic isn't in my lineup. I had it in at first, but then removed it before I even built the config for the first time.

I checked on your config. It appears there was a problem with the main observation site. I set this to 'Philadelphia' for you. I also removed Airport too, as I am in the process of rebuilding its data feed. I was then able to run the emulator properly. Check to see if your emulator starts up, and let me know. Thanks!
I started up the emulator and got the exact same error that I posted a screenshot of before. The new configuration doesn't seem to make a difference in it. Thanks for checking that though :) I did add my own music to the playlist, but this was doing this since install, before I added music (if this info helps at all). It's funny because the emulator starts up to a black screen with that message, and the music plays fine.

when you start the emulator, are you able to tell me if you see any background and/or status progress at the bottom of the window? if you are, what is the last status message you see at the bottom of the window before you get the error? Thanks!
Well, the emulator starts up with that WeatherStar XL splash screen and shows it retrieving the data, then freezes for a half a minute trying to retrieve "Regional Satellite Map 1", then goes to a black screen with the music and the error. The whole thing from the window first appearing to the error is about 2 minutes, I'll edit this post later with a YouTube link to a recording of the program starting up once it's uploaded.

Edit: Here's a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg0tfPBMF7w&feature=youtu.be
I haven't figured out yet how to embed videos on here.

Considering the MP3 for the complete brand anthem (YouTube link above) was never posted, here it is.

Well, I did a full reinstall including making sure any files left behind by uninstallation were gone, and I still have the same problem. I even tried re-downloading the installer and running that, but same thing happened.

Emulator Videos / saxlover98's Emulations (PowerPoint Download included)
« on: October 23, 2014, 10:08:57 PM »
So, this is where I'm gonna post videos of my recent exploration into emulating the Weatherstar and Intellistar . For my first post, I did the Intellistar 2 HD in PowerPoint for fun. I made this from scratch, with the exception of icons from Tommy Hale on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/tommyhale89). Everything was done completely in PowerPoint 2010. There's even a download for the PowerPoint listed below.

www.youtube.com/watch/CRJga8TsIkU?rel=0
This first one (verison 2) was made on the 19th, a few days before the minor graphics update to the Intellistar.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyVLJofJDNA
This one (current version 3) is after the graphics update. I tried my best with the limits of PowerPoint to get it right, and the timing of the slides seems to be off a little bit yet. It's a work in progress.

So, here's the PowerPoint file for version 3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/22yh1qyvhloy5tk/LOTA_template_3.pptx?dl=0
Feel free to send me a PM if the download goes unavailable at any time. If you guys could leave criticism or things that should be changed, or things that can be simplified in the PowerPoint file itself (some of the stuff is a bit clunky at the moment), I'd be very happy and try to change whatever needs to be changed. Thanks and have a good one!
P.S. - How do you embed videos on here? I can't seen to get it to work.
