Local Forecast / Re: Found a working 4000!

I don't want to put you down in any way, Ryan....... I think the word you're looking for is degradation.

I had a feeling I was using the wrong word and I was drawing a blank at the time on whether it was or not, it's the weekend I don't have to think.  :P

I don't know if anyone remembers, about 3? years ago I lived in the town Wahoo, NE, and they had a non-deprecated 4000. Well, I spent today helping my wife do some cleaning at her school in Plattsmouth, NE, which is on the same Charter headend as Wahoo, and I can confirm that the 4000 is still being used, still no signs of deprecation.  I apologize, I have no pictures or video but thought I would just mention it.

I remember last year when CNN got hit, the next day they broadcasted from the CNN International studios downstairs (I have no clue if that's underground or just down a floor) for about an hour because they were under another tornado warning and the CNN US studios had already been damaged.  I think there were places you could look up and see sky, and they had tarps over some computers to protect from getting wet.

What does TWC do if they have to take cover? Do they have storm safe studios?

Earlier the NWS in Nashville issued the rare and serious "Tornado Emergency" for Murfreesboro, TN.  This is only used when indications are a tornado that may cause major damage is heading towards an area of high population.

High risk now for part of the SE.

PDS (Particularily Dangerous Situation) tornado watch for parts of TN, AL, and extreme NW GA.

Tornado warnings almost continuously from the northern to southern border of TN along that line.

I know it miiiiiight sound a little dumb, but I need an opinion. I'm thinking of switching my email inbox from yahoo to either AOL or Gmail. Which one of those can I choose? I gotten 2 opinions already though.
BTW, no offense to whoever uses Yahoo mail, but I really don't like it.

I'd use Google, AOL is in the crapper. I have two gmail accounts, although I rarely use them.
I use Gmail and I love it. Go with Gmail!

I haven't used so don't know much about AOL, but I really enjoy my gmail, especially how when you get the same email forward from 10 different people, it groups them all together and reduces your inbox clutter, the junk filter works quite well too.

If you get local channels through your satellite, then you don't need the box, if you get it through an antenna, then you need the box or a DTV-ready TV.  We get local channels through the satellite but we actually have an antenna on a DTV-ready TV as backup in case the sat goes out during bad weather(do both because we can't get all local channels clear without adjusting antenna and can't DVR them OTA).

As we said before, people won't do anything until their TV's go blank, it's the putting off things that I think most if not all Americans do (nothing against you or your fam Ana or anyone who has put this off, just the way we are, I'm guilty of putting things off as well).  The unfortunate thing is the transition is now occurring when severe weather may be more active than it was in February.
