Don't know how many racing fans we have, but it is with great regret that I just learned that Indy Car racer Dan Wheldon has died from injuries in a dramatic crash in Las Vegas just over an hour ago. God bless his family, friends, and fans.

So remember that guy I was complaining about earlier in the year, Mr. I-Like-To-Pull-The-Fire-Alarm-At-Four-In-The-Morning? Well, victory has come. Was walking back to the dorm, and three cops were hauling some kid out of the dorm. The residence hall director told me THAT guy was responsible for all the fire alarms. Finally, we get to sleep easy. :D

Ironically, as Martin and Curt say hello, I'll be gone the weekend after next, as I will be heading down to Minneapolis for the weekend before the notorious Northern Plain winter renders any travel impossible (that might be a slight exaggeration). Anyone got any ideas of what to see down there besides the Mall of America?

I know this is random, but I find it funny how you're able to say you're heading down to Minneapolis. For me, it would be WAY UP. :P

HA! Yeah, when you live in North Dakota, everything is pretty much down. Fun fact: if you want to get REALLY technical, if you use coordinates, Seattle is south of Grand Forks by a few tenths of a degree.  :bleh:

I'm jealous, Martin. If I was back home, I would definitely be going there as well.

OK, so all this copyrighted stuff seems like a big issue lately. People's accounts are getting strikes, closed, etc... Are companies creating stricter rules, is YouTube really starting to crack down, or are people just oblivious to these copyright rules? :dunno: Not to be rude, but I don't understand what's so hard about it.

It's not always the companies its more like the artists targeting people for using their music in playlist test clips and emulations.

The economy. People (artists) are more than ever hungry for money, so they will do whatever they can to make a profit in these times

Alex, how many videos did your channel have? If you had a ton of emulations and LOT8 videos with music on them, Youtube probably had a good reason to knock the account out. Multiple 3rd party copyright violations almost took me down on Youtube, before I deleted a lot of my videos.

Don't you love how you're taking an exam, and all of a sudden you panic and blank out? As a result, you forget the questions when you knew how to do them before in class and/or in the homework. I have such terrible test anxiety, taking exams has been difficult for me now. It's not really the time that's the cause but just the whole exam setting. I can't seem to handle it anymore.

Have you considered talking to your professor about a specialized test-taking environment, or an extended test-taking time period? That could really help you out.

Hey there everyone. Dang, I haven't been on here in ages... so I decided to drop by. Hope everyone's going well and is having a good fall so far

And neat about the Kindle. I've actually wanted one (I am not big into books), but I figured that I would enjoy them better with thousands of books to my disposal.

Hi, Curt! Nice to have to you back on! How is life in Michigan?

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Jova
« on: October 10, 2011, 05:48:21 PM »
Okay, I know it's a Pacific storm, but I think it's at least worth mentioning Hurricane Jova, which is expected to make landfall in Mexico within the next 48 hours. Although it won't impact the United States directly, may supply some moisture for the Four Corners region and possibly the Southern Plains.

Anyways, who here thinks this system that is passing through FL/GA/AL is really a TD/TS? I know that I do...

I don't, because the invest is lacking in tropical characteristics. Just looks like a tropical low pressure system to me.
