Looks like we do get to see if Manning is as good as Brady. It's 2007 all over again, folks. The Super Bowl will be between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.

Judge for yourself...the warnings are in place, the red dot is centered on downtown Memphis. I'm not sure, but I'd say there's greater than a 50% chance that it could happen.

Tornado near Wheatly, AR, is looking to move just north of downtown Memphis.

First moderate risk we've had this year, and SPC has 15% of significant tornadoes. That hasn't been seen in a while.

UND has a siren system and a text system that automatically pushes tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings to your phone. And seeing how flat it is here (and probably in Oklahoma), you can see the thing coming from miles away. It's common practice to drive out to the airport to see if you can see the tornado coming - assuming it's weak, of course.

Expect a tornado watch to be issued just west of the moderate risk zone by 6 PM CST as the approaching cold front triggers these storms. Supercells initially, and a squall line later in the evening. The fact that this is an overnight threat is particularly dangerous. Stay safe for those of you out in that region.

By the way, Tavores, what song is that?

It's sad how badly our government is being run right now. I'm personally sick of my particular congressman, and I'm not thrilled with the new Republican nominees either. It's up to the voters, and unfortunately, as Matt said, the average voter knows very little about their own congressmen or government.

I just got back from dinner and voting in the primary this evening. Phone calls have finally stopped. It's amazing how soon they called the winner of that thing.

I hate our government more than anything. That's all I will even say. I hate, hate, HATE it.

Amen to that!  :worship:

Be thankful that your government at least allows you to choose who you want to run it.

Severe Weather / Severe Weather Season 2012

Creating this thread as tomorrow looks like a busy day severe weather wise for Dixie Alley. SPC has a high-end slight risk out for a large part of the Southeast into the Ohio Valley...however, their outlook does cite that a moderate risk zone may be warranted tomorrow. If they do, expect these cities to be included:

Evansville
Bowling Green
Nashville
Memphis
Jackson
Birmingham

The probability outlook is posted below.

EDIT: Moderate Risk is out.

OMG! :o One of three things is happening here: either there's missing data, over half of the weather stations in the US have been destroyed, or the US has been reduced to only some cities.

Hopefully, it's the first explanation. :P

I checked the METARs out of some cities they usually have on that map, and those reports are coming in just fine, so it's probably a problem on TWC's end.

Here's my opinion on this matter, and I realize that I'm very different compared to everyone else here:  I'm completely neutral on these SOPA and PIPA bills.  I clearly see the point of stopping internet piracy, but there are definitely flaws on the approach and the lack of focus to carry out their intent.  What I want to know is why are they suddenly a big deal anyway when we have so many larger issues in our country right now?  We have many people still unemployed, an unprecedented debt problem, trouble with foreign countries, and a growing polarity and lack of trust in all citizens.  Shouldn't these be the issues that we should be worried about right now?

It makes this whole debate on these laws and the protests with all these blackouts a huge waste of time and effort that we ought to be prioritizing to focus on solving these issues that will greatly affect all of us.  We can take care of the internet piracy issue later when things are better and we have the time to make it a higher priority.  Besides, I think England already has a case-by-case law that handles this issue quite well.  So, I feel like we lost a day that we all could have done something far more productive than this debacle.

Thank you! :worship:  I would like to know the same thing.  This is by far NOT the most important matter that we should be dealing with in our country right now.  Congress seems to have no idea how to prioritize.  Are the SOPA/PIPA bills going to magically get us out of the economic slump we are still in?
But talking about the economic crisis was sooooooooo last year. you know American's can't focus on one thi---- what was I saying? mmmm donuts.

:P
Donuts? Are any jelly-filled?  :rofl2:
