Here's my next set...

1. I've participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
2. I've participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Muscle Walk.
3. I've walked almost 5 miles in my hometown of Irving.
It must be #1.

1. In my freshman year, I got a detention for locking my bio teacher out of the classroom.
2. I hate I Love Lucy.
3. I've met former Chicago Bulls player Bob Love in real life.

Gosh, I don't know. #2?

1. I have relatives in Alaska who own the only candy shop in town.
2. During my visit to Washington DC, I shook hands with then-Senator Barack Obama.
3. The longest flight I have ever been on was 12 hours, 15 minutes.

General Weather Chat / Re: What's the weather in your area?

48° Few Clouds. Winds gusting to 25 mph. Nothing compared to Grand Forks, so I've been walking around in a t-shirt, much to the amazement of the town folk.

Is anyone still alive? I have about 50 cans of goods that need consuming and there's no one to help me finish it. The assumptions about the Mayans were wrong - what a surprise.  :P

Besides myself, who here thinks the world will NOT end this Friday?  :P

If NASA says it won't end, then I say the world won't end. Who would you trust - conspiracy theorists or NASA scientists?

There's a blizzard headed our way. Snow should start in about an hour and stop sometime tonight. About 2-200 inches is expected. I really hope it goes to the south or north.

2-200 or 2-20? Either way, that's a lot!

55° Clear. Severe thunderstorms forecast tomorrow evening.

General Discussion / Re: Comcast Adds NBC Peacock to New Logo
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:01:00 PM »
NBC didn't decide to put the peacock in Comcast's logo. Comcast decided to do it on their own after an internal vote amongst their voting board.
So it's Comcast's fault and not NBC's?

Fault? I think the word you meant to use there was decision. It's not your company, so I hardly see it as appropriate for you to drop blame on groups.
Whenever something goes wrong, or something happens that I don't like or agree with, I always try to establish a scapegoat. That's how I feel about it.

It looks like a logo that would be more appropriate for Rock Center.

And really, it's a company decision. No side, either Comcast or NBC, see this as a "fault." I can assure you that.

BUMP

Haven't seen it in other offices, but quite a few NWS offices along the East Coast are slowly transitioning into a more modern office homepage.

Been a wet and dreary day from the start. Just the kind of weather I like.

What happened today is beyond comprehension and just sickening. I find it tragic the majority of the victims in this were under the age of 10.

I feel particularly bad for Ryan Lanza, who people were told initially was the shooter before they saw it was Adam Lanza. Can you imagine how awful it must feel to be falsely accused of such a heinous crime such as this?

Every city does have some danger to it, but some of these cities you have to be actively doing something stupid in order to get mugged/robbed, or live in a neighborhood rampant with crime. But not every city has multiple public shootings within a week.

You'd think New York would be rampant with crime, but two Mondays ago they had zero murders for the first time in a very, very long time.

Now it won't let me type my username anymore.  I have to type in my google gmail address, which I never use.  <_<

I know right? Now I have to use my Windows Live Hotmail address to log in now, damn Google

I'm sorry, but are we really complaining about using a log-in change, something that takes maybe a minute to do before you're back to whatever you do on Youtube? I had to change my email log-in too, but I don't see any reason to be upset about it.
